Family. You gotta love them. My sister in law gave me a jc penny gift card for Christmas. So i thought how nice of her.But now i just found out that it is for me to get a "decent hair cut" with. I had to laugh.I guess it is the thought that counts. Wonder what she was thinking. LOL

Well, got my giggle for the day! Maybe you should just go and spend it as you like and if she says anthing, then you can play innocent and say "oh, I'm sorry, I didn't realize it was to be used for something specified by you. I just thought it was a gift for me to get what I wanted." lol - That should get a reaction.
But, on the other hand, any kind of hairdresser visit (cut, shampoo and styled, colored..) is uplifting. Just do your way.

Great Clips is great. You can get a nice, easy to care for haircut, for about $15 dollars. Then find a sale on something you like at JC Penney :-) I don't fuss much over my hair, some people do. I just want it clean, and an easy cut. That wasn't very nice of her. Not a very nice thought to count...

Wouldn't it have been nicer if she had just said something like, "pamper yourself, you deserve it!" ???

bevintex by bevintex 27 Dec 2011

It would of been. Gifts should not come with strings attached.

Well I would get my hair cut at the $10 place since JC Penney's can run about $50 and use the card for something that you want or need. Good luck with that.

I bet you could use that gift card on line at JC Penney and order pretty much anything you need.

Hmmm--sounds like she is trying to reform you, not give you a gift, though a good haircut will lift your spiits.

Bev, actually a good haircut - isn't a bad gift - for some - that would be something that they would love to have. If you think it was meant to say that you hair looks bad - then that is how you will always see it - having been a beautician for years - a good haircut is really a good thing. Hehehe. But do with that card what you want - it is your card now.

Yes, some sure are as subtle as a brick! Be thankful it was a general shop voucher and not just to a specific hairdressing salon then, maybe! Was she apparently happy with whatever she received from you? Some are just not happy people...

I don't want to sound ungrateful. It's just that she told someone else what it was to be used for ,not me. I will thank her and go on my merry way.

THE HIDDEN MEANING COULD BE:- Haircut means scissors. Scissors mean sewing. Sewing means anything you like to do with sewing. Enjoy. hugs Marg
