I just downloaded the current freebie and had a look in my software.
The colour sequence is weird.
Colour #2 is the hat, #3 the outline of the hat and the rest of his red clothes, #4 the fill of his red clothes. Result: unnecessary colour change and fill stitched partly over the outline.
Same with the beard. And the blue (colour #11) should have been stitched earlier, now it overlaps the arms.
There's no underlay for this rather dense design.
It is clearly auto-digitised without any corrections afterwards: all fills have the same angle and there is no other logic in choosing between satin stitch columns and fill than that of an auto-digitising programme: large bits = fill, smaller parts = satin.
I would not bother if I were you.
It "looks" like that is a site related to MySweetEmbroidery (or something similar to that). I have never used this site, but the Sweet designs, generally, aren't the greatest. Pick one and try it; then you will know...and can tell us too. :)
I would get one of the free ones and look in your embroidery software to see how the design is digitized.
I just went and looked at there designs and there are some nice ones .The price of nine dollars is sure cheap to try them out hugs carolyn
