Good morning. Compliments of the season. I hope you all had a very good and blessed Christmas. May Mary's born child Jesus bring joy, peace to the people who are sufferings for no reason of theirs at all.I have a query. When cutwork embroidery is done, do we have to use polyester or rayon or cotton thread for cotton fabric?

Wishing you all a blessed New And Prosperous Year 2012.

Bernadette de Souza.

I don't think you HAVE to use a specific one, all sorts of embroidery threads can be used, it's just a matter of taste. If you want it shiny use polyester and viscose/rayon. Cotton (and there's a dull variety of polyester on the market too) will give a heirloom effect.
I used rayon for my butterflies and gold metallic for cards.
