Ohmygoodness, what a way to go about tidying up your sewing room! So glad none of you were hurt and your machines survived the experience as well. Maybe time to consider giving that smoking habit 'the flick'? Some just need the extra 'spur' to give them a reason :) Your lives, machines and even fabric are all precious, and think of the extra fabric you could buy with what the cigarettes cost! Hope the pong is gone fast.
OMG..OMG..OMG i cant say anymore that everyone else has alread said,,, you will have a brand new room soon......soozie
Thank god you and your famley is ok!!!! OH MY where would I start if that happened to me. I know that I need to check all my outlets and unplug unused cords. Thank you for making me think!
I'm realy glad you managed to put the fire out.
I would have run in the opposite direction.
You are very brave!
Hugs Bev
So sorry this happened Yvonne. Glad you are okay & things have been put back to right./Lillian
Wow! I'm glad you are all okay! My sewing room is a fire hazzard - good thing I don't smoke. I'm going to take this as a warning and tidy up after all my last minute projects and wrappings! There are bits of wrapping and stabilizer everywhere!
What an awful thing to happen, but at least everyone is ok and your machines were not damaged. If it was your lighter, that's unusual, but does happen. Maybe in future take the lighter with you and light up outside and then you know the lighter is out. Again, glad you and your domestic worker are OK.
Well now I check that the lighter is out and away from the packet of smokes. As for the smell, had all the doors and windows open. Used almost half a bottle of Airoma "anti tobacco" 3 in 1 (Fragrances,Neutralises Odours and Disinfects) It worked like a bomb, there is no more smell of a fire or smoke in the room or house.
Thanks for all your concerns
Hugs Yvonne
What bad news.. Indeed lucky someone was in your house. Nevetheless afterwards it is always a mess. Everywhere such a bad smell. I can recall that we once almost had a fire 'cos of my toaster and the smell stayed in the apartement for weeks. Lucky your machines are ok. these are quite expensive if you had to buy them again.
Yvonne,
So glad you are okay, and your house and sewing room is okay too. Now look on the bright side, you have a newly painted sewing room for the new year.
Thank God you put it out fast.
Love to ya, BrendaLea
omg what started the fire???glad you are ok but what a pain all that cleaning ***hugs carolyn
My goodness, Thank Heaven nobody was hurt. Everything else is replaceable. Glad to see damage was minimal.I won't even use candles any longer.
Glad you are OK but what an awful experience. do you know what the cause was?
What a terribler experience Yvonne, I hope you van sort all your things out en replace the stuff today. Good luck. Carla
Dear me!!! Yvonne, I am so happy that you and your domestic are OK. What a terrible disaster if you were traped inside a burning room. I don't even want to think about that. Pleased that you can now have a new beginning in your sewing room. Sterkte!!!Lovies.****
What a terrible experience but luckily it wasn't worse! You could have lost the whole house or someone's life! Here's hoping 2012 comes in a lot better than 2011 is leaving! Hugs. Deb
Maybe it's time to rethink smoking? Someone trying to tell you something? I know, don't want to hear it, neither did I till way after I quit, lol! 17 3/4 years now and I am so glad I did it.
Glad your machines made it fine and all was able to be fixed back up. My whole house needs burned down and start over!
So sorry, Yvonne! A fire makes for the nastiest mess to clean up, and the stench seems to cling forever! Glad is was not worse, and all is well!
Angel
Oh My, just glad no one was hurt!!! What started the fire? Glad someone was close enough to see it and give a shout out.
Oh bother!! What a way to start the after-Christmas time of rest. I'm glad you are OK and that the damage is not too extensive.
Ag nee!!!! Glad you got everything sorted out without having damage.
I am so glad you are okay, please be carefull, buy that domestic worker of yours a big bunch of flowers. This is one way of cleaning your sewing room but I don't think I am that desperate. Keep well
Yvonne I am shocked to hear this. Glad nobody got hurt. If I can be of any help please let me know!!! LOVIES
What a terrible thing to happen thankfully your machines are ok and no-one was hurt...do they know how it happened.. Hugs Sally
Hi Sally, I was on my way outside for a smoke, lite the smoke and walked outside. All that I can think of is that the lighter was still burning. When I put it down on my desk on top of the packet of smokes as the box was all burned.
Well from now I will keep it in the Kitchen.
Hugs Yvonne
Yvonne, what started the fire. So glad there was somebody in the house that could warned you. Glad that you did not lost your machines, and that everthing is back to normal. Love Marie
It is good that it wasn't worse. You could have lost a whole lot more.
A little sunshine in all the mess- no one hurt and
machines okay.
Warm Hugs
Linda aka Bumblebee
oh dear, what a misery. Good it was noticed in time so no further damage to your machines. And more important such a luck nobody was hurt. Compliments for the both of you,to manage to stop the fire and clean all this mess. Hope you will discover what caused the fire so this will not happen again. Hugs, Gerry
Yvonne, that must have been a very scary time for you, so glad you & your machines are OK. hugs helen
Yvonne, I'm so sorry. Thank goodness your machines weren't damaged and everything wasn't lost. What caused the fire?
What a way to have to tidy up your sewing room. I'm glad it wasn't any worse.
Yvonne, I am so glad that you are ok and that you were able to put out the fire and salvage what you could - it is a blessing - that the machine's were saved, too. Do you know what started the fire?
I can't believe that you sound so philosophical about a disaster!
Thank goodness I did not panic, and just did what I could to stop the fire. I was shaking like a leaf afterwards. Just took deep breaths and carried on with cleaning up the mess. Hugs Yvonne
Good Heavens! That is terrible! How on earth did the fire start?
You were both really brave going in to put the fire out, lucky neither of you got hurt and your machines are undamaged, it could have ended up quite differently.
Hugs and roses, Megann
Oh My Goodness!!!! In your Sewing Room!!!!!!!!!!
GASP!!!!!!!!!!!
What a way to have a new beginning..... mmmmmmmm......No!!! I don't want a fire in my sewing room and I'm sad to think that you had one in yours.
But.... how lucky that you had someone to alert you and then help you clean up the mess.
AlmaG.
So glad you are alright and got it put out with only minor damage.
Oh, Yvonne - that is awful!!! How scary! I am happy things are "back the way they should be" but, how upsetting it must have been!! Take care, Laura*
That must have been a frightening sight to see. Real glad to hear not much damage and that your machines were spared and no one injured.
Thank God you are alright Yvonne. The other things can be replaced. Love and blessings Chris
This is just terrible. What caused the fire. Glad that your machines were fine.
Good heavens, Yvonne... I'm sure that was an experience you could have done without. Any idea about what started the fire? I'm glad you're okay and able to salvage your machines.
