In June this year we are having an open garden party to raise money for charity. This year I want to sell some embroidery pieces. I understand that quite a few cuties sell on craft stalls, so I would like some advice on what sells well. Thanks!

I bought a set of Inspirational Bookmarks from Erina's at OPW recently. They sew out fairly quickly and there are a number of sets to choose from. Might be something you could use there. I managed to get 3 at once into my 5 x 7 hoop. Good luck with the day.

It seems like people are always looking for something for their grandchildren so if you can come up with things that you can sell for a few dollars you will probably do well. I was thinking of things I have purchased--small purses (look at some of the ITH tiny purses), hair bows & clippies, for the girls. For boys-a little harder! Cases with slots to carry their little cars. most anything with a karate design. For either, crayon cases, wash cloth mitts with a cute design or Initials, finger puppets .You have lots of time, good to get started early.

Hi Lique, I sell at the craft market. Everything from bookmarks, baby blankets, linen, teatowels, onsies, freestanding ornaments. I have found that our beautiful lace bowls dont sell well. I have no idea why not, but they are greatly admired. I hope you do well. ***

Thank you for the ideas. Now the next question what do I charge? What is a reasonable price for a FSL book matk? Bowl? handpuppet etc?:

I've donated hand puppets to bazaars and they sold quickly... something for the little ones.

Bookmarks do quite well because it is a general thing that almost everybody can use. Good luck I hope all the goodies you make sell really well

Great idea but not sure what sells best. I guess it depends a little on where you live.

That sounds interesting. Where are you? I'd like to know the next big fad/craze that's going to hit and make something cheap and cheerful, but don't ask me what it is. Jan

ttt, surely someone can help Lique with a answer. My friend sells facecloths, teatowels and cushion covers. Primark sell great flannels which I get when I am near one of their shops. Bags and aprons are also good but hopefully others will have better ideas. Look forward to hear what you are making
