I apologize, and should have just kept quiet. I found the post about the milk and honey. Switching to almond milk would kind of defeat the purpose. Sorry sorry. I think I'll start back several pages and read forward from now on.

I am praying for you, and it looks like everyone is pulling for you. Please keep us posted (and I promise to be quiet).

LUCY THERE IS NO CLEAR ANSWER TO WHETHER HONEY IS OKAY FOR DIABETIC PEOPLE, SOME ARE ABLE TO TAKE IT BETTER THAN OTHERS, BUT HONEY IS STILL A BETTER CHOICE THAN TABLE SUGAR AND ARTIFICIAL SWEETENERS. AS FOR THE MILK, SKIM OR FAT FREE MILK IS LIMITED TO TWO 8oz SERVINGS PER DAY FOR A DIABETIC PERSON.

Keeping in mind, always, that I am not a physician. Simply retired after 30 years in the healthcare field, and also a Master Herbalist. These are simply my thoughts on this issue.

Milk, as a rule, does not keep you awake. It has some neurochemicals in it that help produce seratonin, the substance your body needs to sleep. The old warm milk suggestion is a very valid suggestion. Having said that, though....Milk and honey will both elevate your blood sugar levels. Different people react differently to elevated blood sugar. Some get sleepy, while others become 'wired'. You know which that would be, better than anyone.

I did not see the discussion on pressure points, though, and so could be completely off the wall in my response. I am answering the question (as I see it) quite literally.

If milk and honey is a habit you enjoy, have you considered using unsweetened almond milk and stevia instead of honey? I'm just wondering. While I am not diabetic, I do have allergies that are aggravated by the milk (increased mucous with dairy) and switched to almond milk. I like it, personally. But, we all have different tastes.

Shutting up now, and sorry for presuming to toss my two cents worth on your question.
