I just went to stitch delight and I see which purse it is. Its the blue celtic one on sale for $1. I thought it was FSL just briefly looking on her site.
I like this color selection better. I can see cutting those little squares would be a pain.
I would finish this...you may be surprised at how it looks when done. Sometime things just don't look right but when put together it is much better. Also I use applique scissors to trim material before satin stitch they are the best investment I ever made and mine are probably over 20 years old (only thing I use these scissors for).
thank you. also i think i needed to use thread that is the same as the fabric on the outline stich just in case the satin stich does not line up. I gave up to soon.
I did this purse several times. I did it on linen material. The pattern stitches out a first design. You stop it and use small sharp scissors to cut the open spots without cutting the wash away stabilizer. Be sure not to cut right on the line leave just a small bit beyond the line for movement when the material sews. Then finish the satin stitching part. Be careful when you pull the stablilzer off. Sort of put you finger there to protect the stitching . You can use fray check if you see a small area not done well but I did not have any problems with the pattern. I zig zag the purse together using the same width as the satin stitch It looked great! I Also embellished it with pearls and some bling on the other one. Looked great. Hope this helped you! Don't give up. Trial and error when you first start but we are all here to help!I would finish the purse If I wwere you to see how to do it and then do another one. If you are going to make errors do it on the trial one. You will be confident on the next one! Suzanne
i used wash away that left a mesh behind after washing the cut outs were supose to be red. I will finish it. I think that is my big hang up maybe a better sook well help on the edges.

Ashame I like the colours. Would do as some others suggested, have a go at putting it together. Cut also around the edges very carefully and might turn out not too bad. But this is how we all learn. good luck edith
Did you know that YOU are your own worst critic?? You should go ahead and finish the purse, because you may find a few other glitches to work out, and you may also fall in love with it, and be your favorite purse of all time!! It is hard to know from a bunch of pieces. Please do post your finished project here. I think you might just have a winner here and not even know it. :)
It's going to be pretty after you sew the pieces together and if the edges bother you just line it.
There is alot of work involved in this - wished we could see it finished - if you take a picture you can add it here - just comment here - like I just did and upload your image before you submit.
Well it looks great, I have never tried anything like this and I am greatfull for your tips.

You have done well. Have done a lot of in the hoop projects in December and eventually became good at using my embroidery scissors to cut away some of the unwanted fraying, without cutting the satin stitches. Stitchdelight designs is always great.
May I ask who is the designer-its a preety purse design. Its always a learning experience and you get better and better at techniques. We all learn by doing and asking for advice if needed. Lots of experts here to help.
