Well Cute Family, I know I've been absent for the last two days and you all DID tell me to take things easy and get some rest.......

So, thanks so my son, DIL and Grandchildren, Ray and I have spent the last two days enjoying their Christmas gift to us......

A stomach bug to end all stomach bugs!
We have both spent two days in bed and Ray couldn't go back to work tonight because we are both still far short of feeling well.

At a time when there is so much beautiful food here to eat, neither of us has been able to eat a thing for the last two days, it is nothing short of CRIMINAL!!! LOL!!!!

I guess this must have some positive side to it though, so maybe it's to kick start a diet so I can lose weight before my surgery. Yep! That must be it.

OK, well it's back to bed for me, it's probably the safest place right now. :-)))

Ohh, I hate it when company comes and leaves you with their colds, flus, and stomach bugs! That's the downside of having people come over. Hope you get better soon.

That horrible bug seems to be making it way around the world, sure was showing it's ugly face here in Ontario and Quebec over Christmas & New Years...the temperature is so cold here now hopefully it will kill off any of the bugs that are still around...Hugs and take it easy Meg...x0x0x0

Ah Meganne you and ray dont need anything else! Hans got the same bug from the grandchildren and his started christmas eve morning so you can imagine how our christmas day was! At one point he not only was sitting down to perform, but needed a bucket as well! Poor baby. Dont expect too much with the weight loss as you lose a lot of fluid that just dehydrates you, and as soon as you feel better it all goes back on, even spending 2 days in bed together has no benefit as all you can do is feel crook, run to the bathroom and feel sorry for yourself,so there is no positives. I hope you feel better soon, hugs Ruth

We're both still queasy and Ray has taken a week's sick leave, unheard of for him but he needs rest.

Do you have a TV in your bedroom??

The Second Test Cricket Match in onto its second day today and it might be a real test as these two teams battle it head on. Our young Aussies are doing a good job so far. Poor old Tendulkar missed on his 100th century but he will still have a chance in the second innings.. maybe.

It'd be nice just to lie back and watch those dedicated young men sweat it out on the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Keep those fluids up, Meganne. Drown the bugs...

I'm with you Alma - watching the cricket - a great way to spend a lazy day. Love Chris

Just about to bowl the first ball 10.30am!

Eiuw! Yuk! Couldn't think of anything worse than watching cricket, that would be enough to MAKE be sick. hahahahahahahahaha!

Well, not quite true, I have been known to watch the odd one-dayer, towards the end of the day, when it's down to the wire and every man and his dog becomes a cricket fan. :-)))
Today I feel really nauseous again and can't face the thought of food, even a cuppa is not appealing and that's saying something.

Now MIL has it and believe me, there is nothing worse than someone, who is totally oblivious, making a mess from both ends anywhere and everywhere.

God has just sent the straw to break this camel's back!

Meganne you dont do things by half do you. Seriously stomach bugs can be awful. I can still remember the one that had me and my friend off work for a week... Hope you can keep up the weight loss in a less drastic way

Well - you have had your share of the Holiday issues, haven't you. Stay in bed and warm - we have a virus going around here, and GS was sick for about 5 days. It hit him the day after Christmas and lasted until about Sunday. He sure did not need to lose that weight, but could hold nothing down, or in....Hope he gets better in time to get back to his college classes.

Oh, no, I do feel sorry for him, it's a horrible bug and it strikes like lightning but lingers like a flood!
It's over 40*C (104) here so the ceiling fan & light blankets only as it's way too hot for bed.

Bed and under the covers sounds good to me. We are under winter advisory with snow and high wind gusts at over 45mph/72km and wind chills -7F/-23C with just a little snow (about 4 inches/10cm so far). A late white Christmas. It was generous of them to share their stomach virus. Feel better and get plenty of fluids.

It's 40*C (104*F) here, far too hot for bed but that's where Ray and I have both been almost continuously since 1/1. Ceiling fan over the bed has been on high, but light blankets are on and off depending on who has the fever! LOL!!

There is a fierce bug floating around the USA. We were sick in December right before Christmas. I agree to much fun stuff to eat to be sick.
Take Care and feel better.

Meg, dear - I was only hoping that you were really resting - not trying to fight off a bug - I do understand - I think it come to my house, too. I am feeling some better today - so I hope that you and Ray do tomorrow or the next day. I will be praying for you both. And it is right it is nothing short of crimainal to have good food wasted - but if this means you start a diet - that is good for your and your upcoming surgery - then that might be a good thing.

I am so sorry to hear you had it too. Nasty darn bug that one. It breaks my heart to throw out wine trifle, roast pork and chicken, but what else is there when is has sat untouched in the fridge since lunchtime Saturday? The dog can eat some of it, but she's not a very big dog.

It is a big pain to be sick during the holidays, I was also, started the 23rd and just today am felling better, lost my voice, asthmatic so the breathing wasn't so good and just felt losey. Poor you, that on top of your cats, claws adventure. When it rains it pours, maybe you are getting it all out of the way early for a better rest of the year,LOL. Hope you feel better real soon,
hugs
