Get a fabric that is called tissue lamé. I'm attaching a sample picture of one that is called "white gold". It looks white unless you look at it from an angle, and the it is all sparkly. You will find it in the apparel section of your fabric store.
There are also other fabrics. Look at drapery fabric and apparel fabric, along with the special occasion stuff (like prom dresses, bridal, etc.) I have some that has a gold thread woven in to it so it just shimmers. It is 99% cotton and 1% of the gold thread.
If you don't find the quilting fabric that you like there is also glitter felt.
Michael Miller makes the most gorgeous sparkle fabric called, Fairy Frost, Glitz.
It is suitable for quilting but it is not quilted.
I really love this range of fabric and I have bought supplies of it in many colours from various sellers on US Ebay.
The photo's on the MM site don't do it justice at all.
I purchased quilted sparkly "silvery" tissue thin organza an Hancocks. I'm sure Joanns would have something like it. It had matching non-quilted fabric. I made a vest with the quilted, lined it with the non-quilted for the grandgirls...they loved it. Lidna
If you can't find the material you want with the sparkles - but you can find the material with the quilting - perhaps you could use a sparkle glue to brush on it for the effect that you want.
Not so sure about quilted sparkle materials, but I do know that you can find fabric with sparkles, or possible you could use fabric and put sparkle tulle, or organze over it.
Thanks, I am wanting to put a village on it. The village would be sewn on the quilted material. But I need something that sparkles like the snow glissons. If this makes any sense.
