Another in the hoop rag doll. I managed to digitise my own face this time and fiddled with the outline to make the arms longer. Now I think the feet are too big and the arms are too thin! My family is growing by trial and error. I hope my next attempt will be OK for sharing. BTW it is for an 8inch square hoop so the head, body and arms are made in one piece.

Well, your doll family is growing, and with each addition you will learn something new. I am sure that you know someone to take the little dolls when you complete them.

I love the face. Well done!! I don't mind the proportions so much, clothes will make all the difference; the bigger size hoop is great, fewer seams to close by hand and the head will be less wobbly than mine - my doll's that is, usually my head does not wobble at all. :)

Just came home (10.30 pm)after being away for the day but was so curious what was new on the ragdoll front...

spendlove by spendlove 06 Jan 2012

Hope you had a good day - the dolls were multiplying while you were away!

She is darling. Each and every doll should be unique. Children don't know anything about proportions and love each and every doll in their own way. She will be much loved. For us with limited hoops, I hope you will make the face available separately. Many hugs.

This has made me laugh in seeing your sewing room and then the house taken over by a rag doll epidemic. This young lady looks great

Now that is a challenge!

bumblebee by bumblebee 05 Jan 2012

I spent yesterday going through ITH clothes for Mops doll and I love doing it
this way. You sew so shouldn't be to bad
The bodice front and back separate. Then
the skirt with a line to sew it on in the
hoop.

bumblebee by bumblebee 05 Jan 2012

Little bloomer pants or shorts, since she
is small could be just front pc and bk pc
with lines for the seams at the waist and bottom and even attaching trims.

bumblebee by bumblebee 05 Jan 2012

I've finished up all the ITH barbie clothes and now just sewing seams-even jeans. Its so cool In The Hoop.

I think she is great. I need to spend some time and try to make my own face too. I did buy some faces but was having trouble getting them to stitch out correctly. You did a wonderful job.

She is going to be a big girl out of an 8 in hoop inches? 18inches? She looks okay to me. She's got cute little thumbs and the hands can have fingers hand sewn into them if someone wanted to go that way. Face is good. You can probably change her to a
5x7 buy just separating parts out for those with 5x7.

You are learning so fast. Awesome job your
1st item is in 3D.

bumblebee by bumblebee 05 Jan 2012

Oh wow she looks bigger. BTW, there I go
assuming you are sharing her. LOL

I think she will be OK dressed, but the arms were difficult to stuff.

bonnetgirl by bonnetgirl 05 Jan 2012

Just take small amounts and I use the flat side of a scure to push it in..or if possible at our flea market they have those clamps like they use in hospitial..they work great

spendlove by spendlove 06 Jan 2012

I use dissecting forceps (left over from another life!)
