Here goes my first doll by Martine(MOPS).

I don't know how you gals work so fast.
I got her hair done today and a sleeper.
Wanted to experiment adding more hair-used baby yarn yellow in bundles of 5 close together. She has a lot of hair.LOL
The outfit is in the hoop, wording mine
and the stars are katulles. I fiddled with
an ITH design from little kimmie doll and
sized it for Mops doll- the satin at the top is a little loose. She still needs hair trimming and I have 2 dresses and set of pants and top to finish.

For those that don't know MOPS (Martine) posted the doll on youembroidery the 4x4 version.
Maybe we will also get the version with head and arms attached and wink a dress. That would be fantastic.
THANK YOU and Hugs Martine!

She is lovely! I like the dress. Nice to see what you accomplished!
I've made a dress the old-fashioned way and then digitsed one - need to test that . I wonder which would be easier, the ITH one might win.

Oh that makes me happy to hear! I have finished the pant set ITH adjusting from
Omas doll. The pants OK but I put a waist
ITH and the fit is ok but the top is a wee
bit to small.

bumblebee by bumblebee 08 Jan 2012

So not to lose the top I cut the back and
added grograin ribbon so I can get it on her easier.
Now for the dress. Its Omas blossom dress
adjusted but I didn't finish it in the hoop just the edging and pkts and flowers.

bumblebee by bumblebee 08 Jan 2012

I'm gathering the skirt etc the old fashioned way. I still haven't finished.
Hopefully, tommorow. I can't wait to see
your dress and doll.

bumblebee by bumblebee 08 Jan 2012

PS I think having one made just for her would be a lot easier. LOL

I forgot to measure before the hair so up to head is about 9.5 in. No the hair isn't
hard just took a little longer than I thought. I wrapped the yarn around a book
tied off in bundles of 5 even down the middle, then cut in half and laid the pieces out neatly.

bumblebee by bumblebee 08 Jan 2012

out neatly. Picked them up by the bundle tie and freelanced tying close together
2 bundles at a time.

The dresses are from Omas Place Blossom doll that I just love and I'm adapting for Mops doll. Well I did a paper sloper
and I forgot she gets stuffed-LOL- so need
to make a few adjustments.

bumblebee by bumblebee 08 Jan 2012

I think mops the dolls designer is going
to post an ITH dress and that would be way better. I would not be able to share the files due to copyright just tell you how I sorta did it.

Ever try crocheting a wig ? I used to make little dolls and I made them have nice long curls all around .

bumblebee by bumblebee 07 Jan 2012

Ive seen crochet caps but haven't done that. How did you get curls

bumblebee by bumblebee 07 Jan 2012

You can't see it in this pic but she has
a ton of hair. I'll post a side view later

Very cute doll - how was it compared to making the little kimmie doll? I have always wanted that set.

bumblebee by bumblebee 07 Jan 2012

Little Kimmie is well made and the clothes are very nice. I've made her several times and use her ITH clothes by fidgeting in editor for barbie and now MOPS doll.I have all of kimmies sets.

bumblebee by bumblebee 07 Jan 2012

Her hair is super easy in the hoop using a wig style. Its been a while since I've made her. Just wish she had more clothes and I have asked several times. Sigh

bumblebee by bumblebee 07 Jan 2012

I hadn't planned on making dolls right now.LOL, my plate is full at the moment
but how could I resist.
I attached MOPS head to the body in Editor
so I would have less steps and did the doll in 2 hoopings 6x10. That would be my change I dont like a seam at the neck.

mops by mops 08 Jan 2012

I stitched the first one the way it was posted, but made. A second one with head and arms attached in a larger hoop - same size, but much easier to have to attach only the legs. Now I can resist Designing clothes.
Never thought of doing an ITH wig - have to think how I could possibly do that! Oh dear, I planned to make a start with my to-do list, but the request for a 4x4 doll such led from one thing to another.

bumblebee by bumblebee 08 Jan 2012

I think some gals might like your new file
with head and arms attached. I can't wait to see your clothes. Again thanks a gazillion for this little cute set now.
Hugs

shirlener88 by shirlener88 08 Jan 2012

I am so happy to see your posting Linda about the little Kimmie Doll - but that you and Martine both attached the head and arms for a larger hoop - that is what I would like - more in one hoop - less work. I can't wait to see the clothes creations, too. Thanks

That is a great idea. You can make little detachable mermaid tails. I made a mermaid
once from embroidery outlet that was fun.
I changed her tail added sparkles and embroidered scales.
