But she is pretty anyway, I never thought to try mylar on a FSL but I like it.
Debra, thanks - this design was made to use mylar - I think it is too much trouble.
Shirleen, light hits objects at certain angles making only certain colors appear. You might try turning the angel left or right and taking a picture that way.
I still think this one is very pretty!
Hugs Bonnie
Bonnie, thank you dear - I apprecaite it.
I know it should look more clear - but it doesn't - oh well.
This is a wonderful design. Criswell does have many.
Shirleen, you did a wonderful job with this. What kind of Mylar did you use?
Hugs, Bonnie
Bonnie, thank you - I used the opal from Heirlooms by Sharon as I shared below the link!
Thank you Shirleen. It is great to know exactly what it is and where I can find it!
very nice!
Thanks Christine. I do think that organza is better than mylar - but this was a design made for mylar - that is why I shared it - this way - I hope you do share your project.
You are not called the FSL queen for nothing. Looks great. I found it never shows the beauty of the mylar on photos as well as in reality.
Angie, you are so sweet - Hehehe! I agree - no embroidery looks as good in a photo as it does it real life.
I love your angel! You do such beautiful work, however, I have never been a fan of the mylar look! I think the designs that I have seen done with mylar would look more elegant and much cleaner without the mylar. Of course, I have never tried it myself simply because I am not a fan of the after effects. I have never seen a single one of your designs that did not turn out fantastic. You certainly have a "gift" when it comes to FSL angels and everything else you do! Your love of FSL shows in all of your items.
Linda, htankyou very much - what a sweet thing to say - I am not much of a fan of mylar, either. Hehehe!
I wonder if you used Angelina Film if it would work better. It is heavier than Mylar so it may not punch out likt the Mylar did.
Another thing I think Criswell mentioned to use 2 layers of the Mylar. Did you use 2?
Nice design too bad it punched out!

I've been looking at these, but just never tried Mylar. I was wondering how this new addition at Criswell would stitch using it. While she's beautiful, I notice in some areas when the picture is enlarged..it appears the mylar tore?? You know I'm not being critical of your work because you know I've been a fan of your gorgeous FSL for years!! Anyways, As pretty as she is, maybe organza would be a better choice?
When these first appeared at Criswell, I downloaded the freebie mylar paw print charms...I used a sheer fabric for mine, and love how they look.
Thanks for sharing as always!!
Hugs!!!
I wondered who would notice that - I hated that it did it - that was one reason that I never stitched mylar - after the 1st on I attemted over a year ago - I am still having doubts - that mylar is a good choice to use and would in fact use organza and stitch this one out again or just as FSL. Thanks
I'm wondering if we sandwich the Mylar between sheer fabric if it would tear less?? Just thinking because Mylar does give a beautiful sparkle.
Your angels are all beautifull, and with this mylar even more !
She's beautiful, so don't fret about how the mylar shows up as that doesn't matter one bit.
Hugs Karen
Beautiful, i love fsl angels. I haven't tried out mylar either, one day i'll have to give it a try. Thanks for sharing .
Denise, thank you - I have a love of lace - but angels are my favorite to stitch and give.

Very pretty, and with the opal mylar, you never know how you pic will show. This is very nice.
Beth, thank you - I guess you are right about the pic's - as this sure isn't how I expected it to look - Hehehe!
Very pretty angel. I haven't tried mylar yet, maybe one of these days
Shirley, thank you - I know it took me some time - this is only my second try and I am still not sure about it, either.
Beautiful Shirlene. Try with while background, see if that works better. Betty
OHHH yes Shirlene, I like it a lot, very lovely - I have notes sometimes when I have been taken photo that the colour isn´t the same on the photo as on the items. it´s mixed up - strange :-((
Thanks Sigrun - I might try taking another photo - but I am not sure, yet.
I found this picture - that might show - what the mylar really looks like - that I used.
Shirlene, she still looks beautiful! cameras can do terrible things to photos...hugs sally
She is beautiful I'm not sure what mylar is but will definately check it out, is there a website with more information, is it still called mylar here in the uk. would really like more info please.
Put mylar for embroidery in your search bar and see if you have anything that comes up?
But as I mentioned - I bought mine at:
http://www.heirloomsbysharon.com/...
I do like the shimmer the mylar gives. Home lighting can be tricky. Don't know if you would have better results taking a picture outside in natural light. Criswell's has nice angels and any of the mylar designs you could use tulle instead of the mylar or like you said this might stand alone.
Green is my fav color, so I love it to start with... but when taking pictures of materials that have a multicolor sheen to them, not only is lighting a factor, but so is the angle at which the image is taken. Thanks for sharing, Shirlene... I think its beautiful!
Liz, thank you dear - green has been one of my favorite colors all my life - but this mylar - really isn't green. Hehehe! I think it is the light. Thanks so much.
I bet the lights on the tree will grab all the tones and make her dance. NEAT!
OH yes, if she were for a tree - I guess the light would show it in different views. Thanks.
This angel design is very nice! Has it been designed to be stitched with mylar only or can it be stitched by itself as well? Hugs, Lidia
Lidia thanks - it is a design digitized for mylar - but I do think that it could and should be used as a FSL design as well. I might have to stitch one out - just to see - but I feel the stitching is good enough for a good angel without the mylar.
This is pretty, must look so nice in front of the light.
The mylar looks green but that being my favorite color I think it turned out super,
hugs
Michelle
The funny thing is - when you look at it - you can barely see color - but shine a light on it and it changes everything - you can actually see through it - when there is no light on it - so a light on the back side would more than likely do the trick - next one I do - if I do - I will shine the light from the back and see if that makes a difference. Thanks
Very preety and good picture shows off the mylar.
I did buy some from the dollar store but haven't tried it yet. Actually I think this is the best mylar pic I've seen-great work.
Linda, thank you very much - I bought mine from Heirlooms by Sharon - I believe.
That is beautiful, but then too all of your stitchouts are.

Sewinhuggs
Well it looks great Shirlener i lovee it lol
What did you think of sewing with Mylar is the question right???hugs
Oh Shirlener it is so beautiful. You did a wonderful job with this angle .
Hugs Brenda
I scanned this one - hoping it would be better - but not.
