I have a babylock 10 needle and the ellissimo. I use Isocord all the time and never have any problems with it. Floriani and madeira also good. If the thread is made in Germany it usually works fine.I prefer poly thread over rayon thread. You can bleach it and it does not fade. The rayon thread will fade. Hope it helps. Suzanne
Thanks for this question. I have a brother too so all this info was very usefull. For the moment I use only Brother, Madeira thread.
If you're having trouble with treads, try moving them further from the machine. It give the thread a chance to unwind. I bought some thread that my machine didn't see to like and once I move it about a foot away, it liked it.
I have three different brands of embroidery machines, (four machines) and without question they all like Robison Anton, which is great because I like it too.
I use Madeira for Black and White, Poly and Rayon, as I never have problems with this thread breaking.
I love the look of the Metro colours and sheen, but I already have too many threads to justify buying more.
Hugs n roses, Meganne
I use Isacord, along with other brands. I like it very much except I find that it does not have the sheen that other polyesters have.
I have a Brother and a Babylock that dosn't like Rayon or Sulky either. The thread just breaks and shreds...I use some Metro and Marathon polyester with no problem.
I've used Isacord for years and love it. I do have other types but seem to have the best luck with Isacord.
I have a Brother machine, Innovis 4500D, and it works beautifully with Metro thread. In fact, I think that thread runs better than any other I've tried. But for the life of me, I cannot get it to work with Sulky. The fastest way to frustration is to accidentally put Sulky in my machine!!
By the way, I also use Sick thread (now called Embroidery Passion) and that works well on my machine too. The price is great, but the shipping is outlandish with Sick thread.
I have a Babylock Ellegante. I bought 15 or so small, and a few large cones of Metro. No problems until I tried the gold color, and that shreds. Haven't a clue why. I changed needles, bobbins, and still it happened. So I set that one aside. I am waiting for their real color charts to come back-latest on line blurb says Feb., since the colors were not a match to either computer screen I have access to. Then I will buy more. I also got the size 15 bobbins-what a great price-and they work fine in this and the small Brother machine I have.

I still have a lot of ARC that came with my Amaya machine but can't get it anymore. I am sad about that. I also have the chest of Madeira which is excellent thread too.
I got the Metro set once when they had a big sale and both my Brother machines sew perfectly with it. My commercial machine doesn't do well with it but I am going to try some different settings on it in the hopes I can make it work on it too. It is so much cheaper than Madeira that it would save me a lot of money.
Try a few spools of Metro so you can see if your machine likes it. If it does they have sales often and you can get a great deal on their entire color set. The Metro plastic side bobbins are great. I use them all the time.
Everyone seems to like something different so you just have to try until you find something your machines likes.

I love my ARC and all the colors are great. How I miss being able to buy that thread. Do you have an Amaya? Where are you located?
Try slowing your commercial machine down a little bit, and that might help. Good luck.
I have a Pfaff and 3 Vikings and they all LOVE Isacord thread which I buy all the time. And I like that the price is cheaper than some of the other thread I have seen. Juanita
I have 2 Brother machines and I love Isacord and use a lot of it. Also use Brother brand, thread from Sick, and Threadart...no problems. The only rayon threads I have used are Coates and Isacord and have had no problems at all. Good luck!
Hugs, Nadyne
I have a Babylock Ellageo BLL and started out with Floriani and loved it. Then found Metro, both my machine and I love it as well, ended up with all 166 spools and some of the variegated. Try a few spools and see what your machine thinks of it, there seems to be a love it or hate it relationship between machines and Metro IMHO. LOL
I have Bernina machines and like to use Isacord and Mettler as wel as Marathon - with great success. I have lots of colours in rayon, metallic and polyester. Hope you find something your machines like soon.***
I have a Brother ult2003 and I think it is a finicky machine. I gave up on rayon - it doesn't do rayon at all. IF everything is right I have great results with both/either Floriani and Metro. Metro is only about $1 with shipping, and Floriani is about $6. Floriani has a prettier sheen. Depending on the project and how much sheen I want it to have, I choose either Floriani or Metro. I have all the colors I need with these two.
I have a Bernina and use Isacord almost exclusively. I haven't used Sulky yet, but plan to.

Thanks for all the answers...I had to go a few pages to find this as I don't log in every day.
What ever happened to the thingie that allowed you to find your questions quickly?
I am just interested in finding out what everyone thinks of the Metro thread..... I know my machine likes Isacord and Florini --- but don't know if the Metro is good, too..... (would like to find something that works that is not so expensive - but my husband keeps telling me "you get what you pay for")

I wish that the thingie would come back soon! I think it is going to eventually!
I have used Isacord for many years and on several different machines with no problems. Sounds like your machine may be a little tempermental. Brother has a thread line that is good, too. Maybe you should try it.
I have Pfaff machines that hate Sulky so decided I could voice my opinion. Have purchased all of the Metro and it performs beautifully. Also use their pre-wound bobbins. Also have some Floriani but prefer the Metro.
I do have Brother and i do have problem with sulky Rayon thread I never use Metro thread Maria.
I have two Brothers - a 780D and a 6000D/Quattro. My machines also hate Sulky. I own all 166 colors of Metro - love it. Started with some Floriani with my machine - love it. I started by getting just a few spools of the Metro to try it on my machine (780 at the time) then I bought the 166. It is a bit more expensive to buy a few spools - but then you would know. You could get things you use a lot like black and white to try. I got the Metro name from other cuties so I am sure you will get more feedback.
