For me it is first things first - CUTE. I am up very early and spend about 10 mins with the Cute family. At 6.30am I go walking for an hour with a friend. DH spends every day with a sport and I sew, garden, CUTE and shop. The day I discovered Cute was a blessing. I have now come to look on the people here as good friends. I make time for Cute as it has given me so much.
Forgot to add I do not DL freebies any more - that took up a huge part of my day and I have enough designs to last me a lifetime. LOL
Blessings and thanks to all of the very active folks here. After retirement I decided to slow down. It is my guess they do much multi-tasking!!! One could easily spend the day just here at Cute.
I agree with everyone their is just not enough hours in a day and I try to fill as many as I can with the things I enjoy doing. I hate that we have to take time out to sleep. Sleeping is the biggest waste of time their is and I wish I didn't have to give in to it.
Get up at 6 and go to bed most nights at midnight or after.
Always seem to be on the go.
Wish I had more time
Hugs Yvonne
Very Good Question. I'm headed to bed - my mind is overwhelmed with the answers...Hugs and prayers..
Your garden is larger than mine. I get on when I can for short spurts. Being a middle school librarian I come home and spend more time on my sewing than on cute, because I sew all the linens for our Church. If you find spare hours would you send them my way!
Hugs Cindy B.
I retired to have time to sew. I'm busier than ever. I love to comment on cute. Some days I do and some I don't. I almost always visit for atleast a few minutes. It is so uplifting to visit even if it is only for a few minutes. Hugs to all.
Maybe something is robbing your time. Don't you get 26 hours in your day?
I think you should check out the answers on the other question posted. hahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!
Its okay if you don't have time-I didn't either for
most of my life. But the beauty is you stillget to visually enjoy projects and feed the creative spirit.
I spent a huge chunk of 2011 in the hospital with my husband and enjoyed coming to cuties to see
everyone elses projects. I just didn't say much. It kept me sane during hard times.
I take that back a little I was knitting
while visiting and the hospital nurses would flock around to see the latest project. So adjusting the hobby for the situation helps. LOL
Right now I'm multitasking: Eating dinner and computer emails & cuties; laundry, dishes and maybe later machine embroidery.
I don't watch TV.
Going by how your garden is growing, I'd say you spend a fair amount of time on here, too :) There are lots of us in the queue for the 'spare' time, though. We all do what we can do and what we can live with having done.
That is the best question I have heard lately!!! Be sure and let all of us know when you get a really great answer! Linda
its an age thing, after 40 years, retired and pretty much get to do what I want. This is a treat and I feel I desire it. Took care of a husband and kids and helped with grandkids and now helping with great-gran-kids and house open to anyone who wants to come home and visit. Cook, clean and cater to their every need. But after that time is mine. LOL
It is a mystery to me. I can only get here once in awhile and I can't stay long with I do. So the time I have is extremely limited. I hope they can share the way they manage it.
Not me sweetie, I don't have time. I retired in 1997 and again in 2006 from the 2nd job and I have less time now than I did when I worked. I think i waste to much time on the computer. Kay
Between the computer, the dogs, attempting to embroider, keeping the great grands once or twice a week I barely have time to do anything else. Oh, and I forgot the telephone...I am 4 hrs from my family and longtime friends so the conversations do get long! I try not to call but a couple of times a month except for my Aunt that is more like a Mom! The older i get the slower I get and the funny thing is, I do not care!
I often wonder how cuties manage to answer/comment on every post. I just don't have the time. Would love to digitise but what else would suffer when I am digitising. My house is already falling down around me for want of attention.
Well, after many years of work (as many of you know)I retired and thought, ahh, now I will have time for all the projects I want to do....but, the Lord had other things in mind..I am now a 24/7 grandmother to my GS..my son got divorced and he has my GS..but right now he is working an 8 hour shift, school for another 8 hours school and a few left for sleeping, so sometimes my projects take a little longer to do..so I know what you mean about needing more hours..at least I get to go on in the morning a little during coffee break and in the evening during the time he is watching cartoons..lol
I am retired and used to read almost everything and comment a lot. Lately I don't seem to have the time anymore. (Don't lnow where it is going) I do read the Personals, skim over Public, skip Freebies and if I have time check projects. I always check in daily though to keep in touch. Love my Cutie Community.
Angie
LOL! You're more than welcomed to have some of my hours if I can sleep through it. I haven't been sleeping very well lately and my mind is mush that's threatening to start oozing out of my ears. I don't get to 'oo and ahh' as much as I'd like to here on the Cute site. It seems everybody here is talented in some shape, form, or fashion. I've very honored to have been accepted into the fold here.
It's a matter of health and energy level. When you retire you get a lot of free time, or so it seems, but when you get up in the morning and feel tired, all you want to do is sit and read, so you switch your computer on and enjoy reading almost every new post in Cute, and write comments. Since this 'activity' is addictive, you do this again in the afternoon and at night, a bit at a time! When you get up in the morning and the sun is shining, you feel better and start doing many things, and when you get tired what do you do? Get back to Cute, of course... LOL. Hugs, Lidia
There are days when I can't spend as much time as I would like on here. Then on a good day I try to catch up with all that's going on. I'm usually on here while hubby is at the t.v. in the evenings. There goes a few hours. lol
It's multi tasking that works for me. While something is embroidering I am close by on the computer. Another good time is while I'm waiting for dinner to cook/bake. If I've been cleaning/laundry etc. I stop by the computer for a short break. It only takes a couple minutes for me to post and check my e-mails. There is also the interrupted sleep I get. My DH is up at 4am and leaves for work at 5am and my daughter is up at 6am. I'm a night person so I catch a sleep nap and it works for me.
I have wondered the same thing! Yesterday I was on a lot, as I was a "bit under the weather," but I still can not do all the posts!;>) I think I have slow fingers!! ;>)
Priorities!!! It's all about priorities.
Cute Embroidery contact and participation has turned my retirement into a whole lot of fun.
I can sit and look at the fluff in the corners of the room and the dust on my computer table and never mind one single little bit. I can rustle up a meal from just about nothing, if I have to, in the twinkling of an eye after all those years of dedicated meal-making. I can disregard everything while I am enjoying the camaraderie here and have no guilt pangs at all.
.... and when the days seem too short, as most of them do, I just turn off the computer, get into bed and read a magazine before I blank out for the night. Tomorrow's another day.
.... but I do have my priorities. I visit Cute Embroidery almost every day to see what people are up to.
AlmaG.
Alma, i am with you there all the way.i have a wonderfull zoo of dust bunnies raceing for cover every time the door is opened but i too can throw a meal on the table when a friend drops by
i can get a meal together from the most basic of things and enjoy shareing . on bad days then i still have my computer and can rest in bed. my sewing machine is in the bed room so i can even use that
i can design paper piecing cards on my laptop and search for new landscapes to work with on google. guilt is for thsoe who have to worry about what other folk think and i am well past that stage
i have good days. Bad days.and Oh GOD days
good days i do everything i want to do.
on bad days i only do things i have to do.
on OH God days i do only what i need to do.

I just like the 24 hour day. I would probably find out ways to use the extra hours if I had them.
My time is spent doing my morning thing. I get to the computer about 10am, on a good day about 8 am. My embroidery machine is right next to my computer, in back of me is a workbench with another machine and thread, I go as long as the body is willing. My husband and I like to walk. He walks, I use a scooter.
It is difficult some days and just like you there is always more to do! Hugs, Bonnie
Deb, it just happens in swirls - if you ask me - there are days - I can't even get close to the site or make comments - other times - I can spend some time and make comments and post projects - there are days that I too feel I have no time to get things done - most days actually - so I must run my days together - get what I can get done it one day - try to finish is up in another - while doing other tasks - in the in-between minutes or hours. One of my machines is back to back to my PC - so all I have to do is turn around and work on that project and them back to typing - so - you figure out ways - when you want to do something - if it is important - you will work it in. Hehehe!
It all depends; if it is a week- or weekend day; If I have holidays (like last 2 weeks) or if I take some office work to my house, .. But I do have to say that I do not see much TV.
When i was a teen my mother often used to say to me 'There's just not enough hours in the day' to which i disagreed as time seemed to drag in my opinion, Oh how right she was !!!! lol
I did not understand its question.
Times my translator comes with changed and confused words.
I did not understand.
Dilceia she just wonders how some people can be here so often (write comments, upload designs and projects etc.). She was asking if their days have more than the regular 24 hours and if they wanna share some time ;o)
Greetings, Bettina
That is funny :o)
I don't do masterpieces and never have digitized. As I'm not religious I say no prayers (but good thoughts there you got me ;-). I'm selling on an internetplattform so I'm often at my Mac (good excuse *lol*). With two vivid kids (9 and 4) and my little business I also need some more hours per day but a little short of sleep alos helps :o)
Greetings, Bettina
I can say a few things here, once you are retired Every day is Sunday.
I wish I had more hours in each day.
I click (computing) and ( Clack) Embroidering, every spare minuet I have , and have looked for first time today at digitizing, I had to have my husbands help. Yes I did say HUSBAND, bless him he is so good.
Hang in there your day will come .At our age i got nothing but time.lol
With just John and i i do all my house work in the early morning get my supper out( meat)then do my bible reading then come down and turn on my computer (around 10)
Then i continue to sew like now i am doing the napkins for next christmas.then lunch ,phone, Peeko walks and my machine is turned on waiting for me to change the thraed most days.
I camp most of the summer so i only sew a little then as i love outside .
So nowyou know what you can look forward to ***yes i sew late some nights to so u might see me on here at any old timeand that gives me many hours in my day lol
Blessings your way hugs carolyn
My cumputer and embroidery machine share the same room. I get a project started and then look through the projects, designs & cummunity when I have some time. I don't always comment as I don't always see the need to. But there are some great people here and extremly talented. I love this web site. Have a God blessed day!
The only time I relax is when I am at my computor, theres to little hours when you have to much to do, have a nice day.
I often wonder the same. I feel bad that I haven't made enough comments but there simply isn't time!
It all depends on where you are in life, housecleaning to do, (not so much just me and hubby at home now), no children to look after (they are coming for supper tonight) less social events and so on. So if you are not at that place now, tell yourself your time will come and in the meantime enjoy the time you have here on cute.
Hugs
Michelle
I spend just a certain amount of time trying to make somebody's day more happy, by commenting on their problems, joys and laughs. May you have a lovely day.**
Your are to funny...I wonder the same thing! I'll call 2nd dibs then!!! ~Rita
