I always bought a book called decrative crochet and i made everything in every book but we can't buy them any more???i have years of these books and those are the ones i loved best
Me too I just love those books they came out with a new upgrade of them about 5 years ago but put a price tag of over 15.00 a mag on them with a yearly subscription of 50.00 and I only got one HA!
HI Carolyn I have all my magic crochet mags still, all stuffed into my cupboard of books, and they are getting cob webs on them (kidding) i haven't crocheted since i got my computer and now with my new hobby Embroidery on Machines. But just looking at your work and others, oh i'm getting the itch to crochet again, lol. Be good project to start when going camping, or need a change in hobby for a few days. I have this one tiny mag. where i have made a few of, its a 3D elephant, oh it is so adorable and gorgeous when its done. I don't have any made now, given as gifts long time ago. As soon as i find that mag, i'll post to show. I think its one of my fav. crocheted project i've ever done. Oh i gotta mention before i forget, i taught myself to crochet, my first project was the last supper, its size is about 5 to 6 ft. long and about 3 to 4 ft wide. Its in my trunk of crafts, when i get the chance i'll get my dh to help me take a pic and i'll post.
Hi hogfan, wow thats a crazy price for subscription and you only got one mag? This is so neat to meet someone else who has same crochet mags and interests as me,nice to meet you. :)
The company that did Magic Crochet and Decorative Crochet no longer publish in the USA. It was a French company. I used to subscribe to both and have tons of them and love every one. They were the very best crochet books out there - ever. I also have the Ruffled Doilies book but haven't done one yet.
Denise, these are lovely - wished I had something this lovely.
Thank you ladies, I haven't made any of these for many yrs.. and the ones i did do were given away as gifts. Yes these are time consuming but not hard at all... i haven't touched my crochet needles in a very long time.. it was with a cutie on here she does such beautiful work, wanted to show her these books i have on 3d flower doilies. Thanks for looking.. and yes these are great for sitting at doc's office and in front tv. :)
you have to load the extra pictures Denise - as if you were answering your own question - just like you did with this - then click UPLOAD IMAGES - make a comment and submit.
That is a beautiful doily with the variegated crochet thread. These are great little projects to take with you especially if you have to wait for doctors appointment or kids and road trips.
