I've got a Bernina deco 340 and convert all my designs to pes, and then I use the Bernina programme to convert to art. Marie
I am sorry, but Embird can NOT convert INTO ART, it can only convert FROM it. See picture for their choice of formats.
Hi, there. Pes is enabled to Bernina only on their programme. I would suggest that she purchase the intoductory system for digitizing, which will convert basically all except for VIP AND JEF> I have downloaded Wilcom for myself, but are still unable to find out how to use it. Maybe that could also help her. Please ask her to speak to her Bernina dealer. They will help her.Good luck and happy embroidering.****
i did what deeside suggested. there's a free d/l at bernina somewhere.
Normaly you get a softeare with maschine to be able load designs in it. And this software can also convert most of the designs formats. But in our case only some of Jefs were not possible. So we used embird. Bernina use art, because is most developed one. And from our experiences the bernina designer software is also one of the best in group. We tested a lot of embroidery softwares....
sorry, but the deco 340 uses *only* EXP format, nothing else, and both those software packages should be able to make the JEF > EXP conversion.
(I have a deco 340 - and love it!)
Bernina and Janome both use Wilcom to produce the software for their machines. I have a Janome with the Janome software and I am unable to convert from ART to JEF. The software does not recognise ART. (I guess there's some commercial reason for this - seeing how Wilcome produces both lots of software.) Not a lot of help I know but may be of interest to others considering what machine and software to buy.
Only Bernina software can convert designs to ART, so I would probably do as Deeside suggested.
She may need to convert all her JEF designs to EXP using Ambassador, then use the Bernina software to convert the EXP to ART.
This problem is the one reason I will NEVER recommend Bernina machines, only when people stop buying them will Bernina wake up to themselves and change their policies on the licensing of their format.
Meganne, I read this with interest. I have a very old Bernina Deco and it uses PES. What am I missing here? Sarah.
The older machines used pes - I have a Bernina embroidery card I used for my old Brother - but the newer ones use ART and that is exclusive to Bernina.
Some (maybe all) Berninas can use EXP as well as ART so try that. Also, go to Bernina site & d/l Artlink v6 free software. I helped a friend with this some time ago but can't remember details.
I am not positive, but I think I saw a post referring to this problem last week.
