I am so happy that it only took two needles! It frightens me when something like that happens!
Thanks for posting so others may learn from your experience.
Hugs, Bonnie
I started mu machine once without the bobbin. What a mess!!! I gave my daughter one on my older Bernina sewing machines several years ago and had sat down and showed her how to thread it and change the bobbin. The first time she tried to use it, she called me on the phone crying that she had broken all the needles except one. Turns out she had put the bobbin in , but not push it until it clicked. so the needle was hitting the bobbin case each time. She was so frustrated, that she rarely uses it.
It is interesting all of the little things that go wrong but cause so much frustration.
Glad for you. Never to old to learn, next time you wil know. Hugs Marie
Glad it was something simple. Visions immediately come to our minds of what kind of horrible thing has gone wrong! Then settle down and take a look and maybe we can fix ourselves instead of lugging it to the machine Dr.
Way to go! We can now call you Mrs. Fixit!
So glad your machine was fine. Boy that is a scary thing when your machine goes crazy. Good luck with it.
I am pleased for you that you managed to sort it out. Could have been a very expensive exercise.
I did this also, was able to remove the needle so I could get the hoop out and find out what I had done. All was fine after I fixed it.
You are SO lucky that it didn't throw out the timing. These machines are so delicate. Like, holding a baby is nothing in comparison!! I'm glad that you had a false alarm. Good time to remind everyone that if something seems wrong, check it immediately!! Whew. :)
Bet you were scared, too, after the last schamozzle with your sick machine. I'm glad you were able to fix it.
AlmaG.
Wow, that happened to mine a couple of weeks ago and I took it to the shop..I bet that was what was wrong, the guy called me by the end of the week that it was ready...charged me for a full tune up...dang if I had only known....thank you for posting this, it might be very valuable info for some of us.
I had a vision of the Machine going to be fixed and couldn't stand the thought of it missing for days and also the cost. Two bent needles is much less than a trip to the Machine Dr.
well when my miss behaves i put it in the car and drive up and get the mail bring it in and it works!!!I think it needs a wee car ride lol weird i know but i did this 3 times so far and it worked ???hugs
I took the spool/bobbin case holder out of my machine two weeks ago as the machine locked and there was a 'loose' bit of thread. After a good lint clear up it took an age to get back together and working. Our machines, oh how we love them and how they cause us headaches
I am pleased for you that you got it sorted out with no damage to your machine. Great stitching and happy day****
Good girl, stick with it and usually it's something simple like that. These wonderful machines have a zero tolerance for anything out of sync. So glad you got it sorted out and glad you posted, it might save somebody else some day.
When I put everything back I was probably just not concerntrating on what I was doing as I clean around there often.
Thankfully it was nothing major that caused you to put her in the shop for your own sanity and wallet! Gt to stitchin' girl, lol! What's the cost of a couple of new needles compared to that :)
Don't want to spend money on getting the Machine fixed. I would rather spend it on designs.
Pff Lucky it was only the needles that broke and It was just the bobbin. Imagine you had to send the machine in for a checkup ! So many time without sewing machine ! That would be horrible !
That must have made you nervious and worried - so happy to hear that you figured it out and didn't have any damage. Keep on stitching.
Oh yes, placing the bobbin or bobbinholder incorrect can cause a lot of trouble. Good thing you found the cause. Enjoy stitching again.
I think I did this once, had to be rescued! Glad you are back to normal! ! Live Laugh Download Stitch! christine
This is just a little oversite when putting it back together but out machines are so sensitive that any little thing can really cause problems. Luckily you found it before it did something major,
Have a great rest of the day,
Hugs
Michelle
Probably not watching what I was doing when I put it back. I couldn't believe it when I noticed it was in wrong.
Sure glad you were able to fix it with no damage to your machine. It could of been worse. Have a great night
I thought you were going to say you gave it a hot lemon drink and an aspirin and that fixed its shivering. LOL!!!
Sorry Lyn, couldn't resist it. :-)))
Think I was the one who needed a Bex and a lie down. Honestly the needle section looked like it was shivering before it bent the needle.
That's a very Australian saying. My Grandfather always had a Bex in the house for headaches. It was in a paper rectangle and he would pour the powder into a bit of water and stir and then drink. Sometimes I saw him put the Bex straight into his mouth! Yuck! Love Chris
Here they are called Goody Powders and my son takes them "straight"....I can't stand them. Linda
My friend is addited to bc powerds and caused bleeding ulcers, Thursday he bled out and tonight is Saturday and they still don't think he is going to live!! Please don't let any one you love take BC's
I think it is a strong version of Aspirin. They will definitely eat up the stomach Kay
