Some of you are aware of the crazy things i make to help children smile. Martine kindley digitised a set of Pixie ears so i could put them onto slides and they in turn fitted onto the hats the children in the hospice wear.

It is with great thanks and a total pleasure that i present the first ones off the production line. The furry ones are an added bit of fun but the rest will be sewn useing double felt for the backing and then a single piece for the inner ear.
i have turned the one ear over so you can see how the slide is fixed inbetween the double fabric. A small slit is made and then opened to allow the back of the slide to go inbetween the layers. I use a glue gun for this putting a small amount along the back of the opened slide and then insert sideways and then twist to lay flat. a little more glue is applied to the top back of the slide to hold it all secure.
sew out time is less than three minutes.
i think they would look good as hair slides and even glued onto alicebands.
if you make earmuffs from the bands then pop a set of pixie ears on you could also of course sew them onto a childs hat as that may encourage them to wear one to keep their heads warm in the cold weather and stand back and wait for the laughter to start.
