I would have to have the best dealer in Australia for my MB4. Needle 2 would stitch about 20 st and then wanted to be rethreaded, although the thread was still there. Changes the needle, changed the tread but it was still not stitching. I rang Narelle, the dealer I purchased the machine from and told her the problem. Well would you believeit. She told me to get some dental floss and thread it all the way through especially under the tension plate. AMAZING. I rang her back and told her she was magic!!!!. Now I can finish test stitching my new design for you all and get it posted for Valentines day. hugs Helen

Wow good to know! I think I know what you all are talking about, however on my machine I can't find disc's so to speak. just the tension at the top which seems not to have this problem. I will check out my other machines. Thanks

Hi Helen,

I've used dental floss for quite some time too. Love Chris

Wonder if the makers of floss realise the many uses of their product. LOL. hugs Helen

When I bought my first sewing machine way back in 1963 my dealer told me to use a button hole thread or dental floss (which was hard to get and very expensive at the time) and have used it ever since. When I've had a shreaded thread I always clean the machine and it works wonders.

Thank you, Martine, I will try next time that the thread shreds. Hugs, Lidia

Hi This happened to me today. Thanks for the information. Did Narelle say what the cause was?

Just needed a cleanup in that area I guess. Just seemed to help the thread through the machine. hugs Helen

I have heard of doing this - but never knew how it really worked for sure. I think that I might have to try that - with my next trouble. Thanks Helen.

Shirlene, It sure is worth a try before taking it in for the dealer to do. hugs Helen

No there was nothing I saw, but then it could be just a wee bit that was there. All I know is it worked for the MB4 and I am glad I did not have to take it in to the shop. I did 'floss' the tension plate as well as thread it through the complete thread line. hugs Helen
