Great ideia ! I want to learn.
Which is its machine?
Kisses
Sue, what file extension was used for your scan to import into Embird?
Great idea...I have Embird and I would love to learn. But the english language is a little bit difficult for me. (I speak Dutch)
There are great lessons available in Dutch too. They are even mentioned on the Embird site. Anneke van Ingen made great lessons in the past, they might still be available. Je kunt me altijd vragen stellen.
Thanks so much, Sue for starting this thread. I'd love to get expert info since my attempts are more on the "hacker" level. Trial and error, not doing things the right way! Now I need to send Martine my email.. Thanks to you both!*'s for all
What a great idea! Have Embird and would love to know how to begin using it.
I have PE Design Next, so if anyone needs help, just ask (PM me).
I have given PE Design tutorials over Skype and it goes really well.
I have an Embird written tutorial but can't get anywhere with it. Anyone out there who could teach me Embird?
Christie in Germany
Christie, start by looking at the tutorials in Clipartopolis, you'll find them under University. They are easy to follow and give good basic instructions. Any questions, ask me.
Great idea, but does anyone use Floriani Embroidery Suite Pro? I purchased it and now I just need to get down to learning how to use it. If anyone has it, I would love to chat you about how you like it and how much you have learned it.
here is a design im currently working on..
I want her to be nice and light for a delicate fabric.. so I am playing with the stitch fills and patterns to get her just right,
below is an image from embird software then my fist actual stitchout. I wanted her to be a little different from the normal complete filled in.. and Im thrilled with the result :-)
Big hugs from London - Maria xx
Hi Sue
Isn't it fascinating to watch your own creations stitch out :-)
For me, it certainly makes me appreciate other digizers work.
I too use embird for all my creations and love it
I still spend plenty of money purchasing designs too lol..
Just as an added thought I began with the Rose Cottage monthly challange I learnt so much from
Vivien , which spurred me on..
I am quite happy to offer my own thoughts and advice if needed :-)
big hugs from London

I had forgotten this one and I belong to the group. I have to restart my thinking again on Embird. I can't remember resources and due to computer crash lost links but I do have yahoogroups still.
Thanks for reminding us.
I would love to learn more. My software is Bernina. The dealer I bought it from would not work with me for some reason for classes so I went to another dealer that was willing but an hour 1 way. Makes it kinda hard. Have taught myself some but want to learn more. My 830 will import all of the designs on the machine but I have not played with that yet.
I have all the software I need in Embird & have had it for several yrs. I just can't seem to find the time to sit down an learn the digitizing, seems there is always something I have to make or somewhere I have to go. Have gotten as far as doing different shapes with different stitch fills and that was as far as I got./Lillian
I'd like to be able to scan a picture and turn it into an embroidery file. Don't think this is Digitising as such, but am very interested in the answers. Thanks for asking. xx
I assume these are the default setting. You can get different effect by playing with the minimum and maximum stitch length and the width.
And you can make your own fancy stitches and save them.
I won't mind making a tutorial if Embird users are interested.
I highly recommend making samplers of fill stitches at different densities and scale.
I would sure appreciate one!!! You are so very special to do this for us. I have almost talked myself out of getting Embird, now I'm in the forward mode again. Hugs, Judy
Yes Martine
I would really like it and promise I'll do the tutorial.
Hugs
Linda aka Bumblebee
They are the default settings. I have fiddled with the stitch length etc and the potential is huge.
I must get onto fill patterns some time soon!
I've considered purchasing Embird, but thought it would be hard to do without someone help...that would be wonderful to have a tutorial from someone who really uses it..sometimes the instructions that come with a program seem like you have to have a PHD in the subject..lo...Thank You!
I have studio but life got in the way. I have embird
/studio 2010 build 8.8D. I wanted to check out the
automatic applique function and I had a little tutorial it escapes me at the moment. Just like you said scan or import and object and then go to properties and it showed how it auto appliqued but didn't explain why to put in the numbers it chose.
So when I asked you about the embellishents I tried to find it and found
shapes library but these are not in them or I could not find them. So thanks I will try to find them and that tutorial.
BTW How cool is that fancy lines- awesome.
I was wondering if there were add on libraries like fonts. And not only did you figure out Embird but you also applied sewing techniques and made 3d ITH
Preety cool I'd say.
I'm planning to try some of the fancy stitch lines to do applique. I think satin stitch is a bit predictable!
BTW the fancy stitches are in the box on the rhs of the screen when you are drawing a line.
The tutorial was from Cantoo but now the link for Cantoo designs is not working- I got the cache to pull up and you can see
she had several free tutorials. Maybe someone knows.
Thanks Sue
This would be wonderful & hopefully some-one would give us info on buzz as we always seem to get things for embird. Us buzz users never seem to get a mention.
I am all "ears and eyes" to what your response is. It would be wonderful to start with the basics. Hugs to you!! Laura*
There are several Yahoo Groups for all that are learning and using Embird.
Marcelle
This will be interesting to watch and learn as you go, not into the digitizer as yet but hope to in the near future,
Thanks for starting this,
hugs
Michelle
Is someone offering to give us some lessons or tips at least to get us all going. G
More people will jump in later I'm sure
There are a lot experts out there but just
a suggestion you can peruse yahoogroups
and to find a group just type in embird there are several good ones some as old as 9 yrs.
You go girl!! Well done. Thanks for starting this conversation, I am sure there are many of us who could do with a nudge up the digitizing ladder.
