Teri, I just saw this! I'm glad Esther is out of the hospital, but so sorry about that 'warehouse' she's in! Make lots of noise, dear, she'll get the care she deserves. I'm with Lbrow, threaten to report them to the state. Our elders deserve every good thing, not to be stuck in some 'warehouse' like this till they just die from lack of stimulation & reason to live. Ohhhh, can you tell this makes me *really angry*? My late DH worked in a facility like that for a while, till he got fired for making too much trouble trying to help the old folks. Hang in there, Teri & Esther, I'm praying for you. Marji
Teri, hope everything goes well sweetie, you're all in my thoughts and prayers, hugs and flowers for you.
Teri, It sounds as though that facility needs to b reported to the state. No one is suppose to b left n bed all day r not clecked & cleaned every 2 hrs. Sounds like I need to come out there & go to work. I guess I'll b a geriactic, als advocate 'till I die. *4U
Hope your Grandmother is now home I know how terrible some of these homes can be, give her a hug & flower from me for mothers day
Glad she is out of the hospital but hope the thing with rehab works out better.
I cannot work in facilities like that. I like to work in places where "I Can" give that extra time and attention I believe they all deserve. My continual prayers going Heavenward for you all. Blessings and *********'s 4U2 ><>
Oh my Teri, I a happy that she is out of the hospital but this center doesn't sound like the place for her to be - it is never easy is it? I do hope that you can have a wonderful day with Esther and please tell her we love her. Or the next time - that you visit, after you read this. I will continue to keep you both in my prayers. *4U
Teri my heart goes out to you durning this time with your GM. It will tear your heart right out of your chest to have to deal with "the facility". Girl you are in my thoughts and prayers for you to gain strength durning this time. Love and here is a big ole hug for you and many flowers XOXO OOOO *****
-more- the facility... they're not used to having a patient come for a short term. I think it's more of an 'end-of-life' mentality there. I'm amazed at how they're okay leaving someone in their bed all day without cleaning them, etc. My Mother and her husband chewed some serious butt (twice), and they've realized the best thing is to get her out of that facility and home... that way they don't have to deal with all of us. lol... Anyway, she is doing okay, but it's impossible for an Alzheimer's patient to be self motivated... she has to be directed. PT and OT come twice a day too... love you girls!!!! I'm off to see her again today. xoxo
