These are lovey. They would go well in the christmas boxes. Shirley
So pretty, finally decided to collect them even though there are no little ones in my family YET!
Eening I would loe to try thes could you pos them to try or may we meail, you?
So these come with the cute designs on them. Because I love them.
Love your hair clips. Is there a way to scale down for a 4x4 hoop. I saw some tiny designs on DBC but they were for a larger hoop. Great Job.
I love these but would not have a clue on where to find those teen.y designs.
been searching all over for designs like that.
what a very clever lady you are !!!!!
Oh NO!!! I've done it again. Yesterday I answered all the questions in full and I must have omitted to Submit the answer. I've done that so often... will I never learn????
First, thank you for your messages. It was a lot of fun creating designs for these little clip covers.
To answer several questions...... I made the designs from my 3D Program, using star, music, flowers, hearts and scrolls. I put starlizard's outline designs on the embroidery screen and then chose the elements from the built-in program and fitted them into each outline. I sized them according to how I wanted them in the outlines, adding different elements e.g. scrolls to the bows and stars. I saved each design as I did it.
When I had the embellishing to my satisfaction I put the cover outlines on the screen again and then added the small designs.
That meant that the first colour in the stitch list was the outline - I didn't stitch it first - I stitched it last!!!!!
I merged the colours where I could to avoid thread changes but then I had a lot of jump stitches. However, that doesn't worry me - I just sit and snip. I used lightweight cutaway stabiliser and firm felt.
I hooped the stabiliser and stitched the Fix or basting line - that gives me the size of the felt to use without wasting too much.
I began the embroidery with the second colour which then proceeded to all the embellishing designs.
Last of all I took the hoop off the machine and stuck some more firm felt onto the back, the same size as the Fix or basting line.
Then I went back to the First Stitching Colour and stitched it out. That stitched out the outlines of the clip covers.
The next job was to sit in front of the TV and watch the Australian Open Tennis matches while I cut the covers out with the pinking shears.
The last job was to cut slits in the back of the covers into which the top of the hair clips are inserted. The 'clippies' work beautifully.
I've added crystals as i believe that Bling is the Thing these days. Well.... I like Bling, anyway.
A Huge Thanks to 'starlizard' for her help and for generously giving the outline designs in the first place. I'm going to make more.
AlmaG.
okay how did you get the designs on the top of the clip and still do the pinking around the edge. the only way I can think of is do the embroidery then take the hoop off and place the 2nd piece to the back of the hoop. Is that the way you did it?
Alma asked me how to do it... you set it up where you stitch out the design, and then float a piece of felt on the bottom before stitching the outline.
WOW I love these where can I get them from.
Thank you
Staci
would love to make some.
I found the outer covers did you must add the desigens I would love to make these they are so cute

They are very cute, nicely done! Where did the small designs come from? Hugzz,Linda
Every girl will love to wear them in their hair. They look great! Good idea to add the design directly on the cover :o)
Alma, what a great job you have done with these - they are adorable - where did you get all your cute little designs you used on them?
Wonderful job with the minis-Really cute and pinking is really good
The link to the designs...
These are very nice, I may have to make some for Aliyah!
I do not see a question to answer. But how do I get the hair clip design
these are way too cute. Love the left and right clippies. It's very hard finding small designs to fit into these, but you managed quite well. Betty
The musical adornment caught my attention, Alma. I wouldn't have thought of that. They're gorgeous!
Thank you. I love that one, too, but I can't make a mirror partner for it because the clef would be at the wrong end.
Alma.
I'll have to try just the stave and some notes. The clef with the crystal makes it special, though.
WOW!!! Now I got to do some of those for two little Gds that NEEd some !
Way too cute!!!! I love the idea of embroidering right on the clip piece instead of attaching a separate design.
