You can learn a lot about a person by the Bible passages they mark. I have my mothers and one from my favorite aunt, she was a missionary for many years. When I go through them, it's like they are still with me and I know I will be with them again.
Excellent Alice the BIBLE never grows old !!Its promises are new every morning hugs carolyn
I write in my Bible all the time..hope someday where I'm gone my grandkids & kids will read it & see what God taught me over the years! This yr. DH had my Bible rebound so I'd still have all my notes. He said, "You do know I could have bought 3 new Bibles for the cost of rebinding this one?" Yep! He's such a sweetie!
Thanks for sharing. The Bible is my favorite book. And yes, mine is also marked and written in.
That's a good one Alice, you know this can also refer to spiritual things. I know we sometime take scripture relative but with this one when you think about it on the spiritual level, "by wisdom a house is built" meaning our spiritual growth, "through knowledge it's rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures" because of God's word we are filled with wonderful treasures and promises.
Thank you for reminding me of this. Hugs to you. Terre
Sometimes, just sometimes the Bible opens at places that seems to me like a message just for me. Thanks for this. Hugs Marie
Marie, that happens to me all the time - I know it is a message that I am supposed to have - right now - from God.
Proverbs is such a great guide for living! I love it; don't you? &...thanks for sharing this!
It may be silly of me, but there have been times when I have been flipping through my bible, that I come across a particular verse that I marked years earlier. I will read and reread the verse, because it seems to have a significant meaning I should grasp to deal with the problems at hand presently! The "Spirit" within, at work, I suppose!
Angel
I do that with my own Bible. I'll find things I highlighted years ago and they seem so appropriate. But, of course, that's the Holy Spirit at work!!
