Here's a question for all Cuties who use Alphabet Fonts. What size or sizes do you prefer when buying a font set? This will help me since I am working on some Fonts at the moment that will be on my website. Appreciate your feedback! Thanks!

Hi Christie
I am sure you will make one of everything knowing you! I love smaller letters for names(both script and more upright contemporary fonts), but I also enjoy having a choice within the same font. I like putting smaller letters on hand towels and matching the same font larger letters on bath towels. - (2 to 4 inch)
Thanks for working so hard for us!

I'm still searching for a nice small alphabet with lower and upper letters (ca. 1-2cm Höhe/ 0,5inch).
I have some but they often did not stitch out really good (neither on the janome nor on the brother). My other problem is that this is often not the german version of handwriting: The small T is very low, the big F and T have another form (nowerdays they learn a much more simpler form :o(.
Greetings, Bettina

Something I often mis is a hyphen for double-names and the double-point to create the typical german Ä Ü Ö ;-)
Numbers would be nice but not necessary for me; never needed $ or @ for an embroidery...

I always include a hyphen but not the double point. I will start doing that in my next alphabets for Embroidery Avenue. Good Tip!! Marcelle

I love to see fonts offered in several sizes that would look great on towel sets and clothing or other items.

For instance 2 inch for Face Cloth, 3 inch or 4 inch for Hand towels and 5 or 6 inch for Bath towels ( these are height measurements for Upper Case fonts (letters).

Some larger font sizes do best in a fill type of stitch with outline done in Satin stitch rather than the whole letter done in satin stitching.

Also a Fill type of font usually has an underlay of stitching and this works great when stitching on nap type fabrics as the underlay stitching holds the nap of the fabric down so it doesn't show through the lettering on an item.

Have fun deciding!

I always seem to sew everything out as large as possible so that must make me in the large catagory as I have a large hoops

Smaller fonts 1/2" - 3/4" are preferred for wording, including capital letters to match. Very seldom you see them.
Looking forward to see your website.
Take care,
Rachel

I like all the fonts, but smaller are harder to find. Jolsons fonts come in 3-5 sizes. Like their embroidery.

There are tons of 1 inch and larger out there. Personally, I'd love to see some small ones 1/2 to 3/4 inch for Upper case and coordinating smaller Lower case for words, quotations, etc. Thanks for asking!

I like little ones (1/2 inch to 3/4 inch) - they can be hard to find sometimes and there are lots of places where they come in handy.

Hi Christie, I prefer 1.5" to 2.5" size fonts, mainly due to the size of my hoop being 4x4. When the sizes are big I have to rehoop more. Hope this helps, look forward to seeing your website. *
