I had a look at this Shirlene. We do not have ice/snow here. Driving is a whole new ball-game!
Excuse me, but what idiots for driving in those conditions without chains on their wheels! I thought I saw some black ice on the roads. That was so dangerous taking their lives and other people's into their own hands! Thankfully there was only damage to the cars and maybe to their egos! Love Chris
This was plastered all over the Internet and the news stations here - those people surely knew who they were in this video - I am sure they have been shamed many times for what they did. It is unreal behavior.
A hill, ice and then snow. I'm betting that those people wish they had stayed home that day. I use to live out there - in Idaho just above you. Everyone can prepare for bad storms but, no one can prepare when people collide into you. I imagine those parked cars thought they were pretty safe. Thanks for sharing.
I sure wouldn't chance driving on a road - that already had cars off to the side like that - what a mess - just looking at the road - you can see the skid marks - I don't take a road - that I can see others have skidded on.
Thanks to all of you - this is still going on outside - but hopefully - no wrecks like this going on anymore.
I really liked the video. Some people need to stay home. LOL Thanks for sharing. Devon
Shirlene, This was shown on Atlanta's Fox5 news this morning. It is astounding to me that so many would dare to get out and try to get around in that mess. After all, where you are, it is nothing new. I would think these people would already know how dangerous it can be. Actually it looked like one of the silly movie shots that are done just for entertainment or to show the public what can happen in this type of weather. It looked like it was staged instead of real people getting out there and just daring others to hit them. I sure would have hated to get out in it and have my auto destroyed!!! The Atlanta Fox 5 news crew seemed amazed at what they were seeing also. It was mentioned that it was all over the internet yesterday! How bad was it last night for people in your area? I know you said it was just 30 miles from where you live. Do be careful, stay in as much as possible and away from the mees you posted on the video yesterday! We do not want to hear that You or Rick have been involved in a wreck!!!! Hope the two of you were prepared with plenty of groceries already on your shelves and did not have to get out to go to the grocery or drug store! Take care and be very careful! Hugs, Linda
Thanks for showing us. We here in South Africa do not get snow where I live in Centurion. Lots of people had damage to their cars and I hope no one was injured. Best to stay indoors and not venture out in that kind of weather.
Wow, what a mess! Showed this to hubby and he's like, watch out, oh no! Snow is so beautiful and so dangerous! Stay home, that's my motto. Brian (our youngest) used to live in Bountiful. Thanks for sharing. Hugs..Carol
We got snow last night and this morning. We haven't had much this winter yet. I hope no accidents like in this video. damaris
Here in Iceland, nothing will happen like that in the snow, all the cars on snow tires during the winter, and we are taught to drive in snow. - What a mess.
What a mess that was. Feel bad for all the people that damaged their vehicles. I hope there were no injuries. I have slid a number of times in the snow. Once a school bus slid into me. That was quite the experience. I came out of that without any serious injuries. Ice and snow is nothing to be messing around in. Hugs, Mary
snow is beautiful, but I hate it when the roads are dangerous. Unfortunally it doesn't only fall on the garden but on the roads too. Better be safe everybody. Take care!
Don't look like there were any injuries except to the vehicles. Would like to parallel park like the one car except no snow/ice. Lots of damage to the car that hit the snow plow. Must have rattled a few nerves.
Goodness, they look like 'bumper cars'. Here we never have snow, not even that severe cold, but we do have the heat, hugs S*
This is an excellent reason to stay indoors and sew! I was involved in a car accident on 22nd December in slippery conditions after light rain. I would definitely be too nervous to drive in snow - luckily I have only ever seen snow once in my life.
Nasty mess! Expensive trip to town for many. I would think that people that lived in places that have alot of snow would be better prepared. Chains and snow tires or had already prepared their supplies so they could stay at home. The Atlanta area was almost completely shut daown for about 4 days last yr when we got all of the snow. No one here was prepared for any such weather! All of our interstates were closed and many many roads were not passable. The city did not have enough snowplows to take care of the downtown area must less all of the interstates. I stayed at home for a week. My son did deliver me some bread and milk and a few other things because when I went to the grocery store closet to my house, the shelves were empty. It had just started to snow at that time but I was not going to turn around and go back toward the traffic to get anything. Schools were closed and so were most businesses. It does not snow this far south very often and when it does, it melts as soon as it hits the ground...N-O-T!!!Last winter was the exception.
