Has to be the thread. i had the same problem with YLI thread in my new serger. The company skipped a step and the finish was not right on the thread ...Kept breaking. As soon as I changed thread perfect... If you thread is old it will break. Might be shop worn. Try breaking the thread with you hands. If it breaks very easily it is shop worn and that is your problem. If so the thread is not good for very much except maybe basting. Suzanne
I do towels exactly the same way Meg does and I do a lot. Sounds as though it may be the design. I have thread that's up to 7 yrs old (and who knows how old before I got it) and have no problems. As Shirlene advised make sure machine is clean. Sounds like a design problem/Lillian
My HV Diamond prefers 90/14 needles for just about everything embroidered. It doesn't like doing towels very much but behaves much better if I have placed a good quality WSS or Dry Cover Up on top of the towel.
I never hoop towels, only the stabiliser underneath, then I pin the towel to the stabiliser and baste it in place on the machine, then add the Dry Cover up, baste in place, then stitch out the design.
I only use Poly thread for towels.
Hope this helps
Have you stitched this design before or tested it? Have you made sure that under your bobbin is clean and lint free? Is this a new thread or have you used it before? Try using dental floss - threading it like you would your thread and see if you can break loose any other pieces of thread that might be caught up in the thread guide.
yes i have check , but i wonder if its my thread i have had it for a long time. maybe putting it in the freezer .
