Very Hot ... Here in the Western Australia we are about to go into our 8th day of record temperatures, and tomorrow they are say is going to be the worst 42 deg or around 108 deg , it is to hot to sew doesn't take long for the sewing machine to heat up in those sort of conditions , I just sat and sorted buttons to day , may be I shall do some hand embroidery threads tomorrow. I think if I had to choose between you and Carolyn/Noah of -39 and your 42 deg it would be yours. Take care and keep cool

When the temperature rises here it's too hot in my big sewing room during the day - floor to ceiling picture windows facing north and large patio windows facing west - but for a few brief hours the mornings are heavenly with the rising sun from the east shining through a long high window.
About Test Cricket time I migrate into the lounge and do my hand embroidery.
Machine embroidery has recharged my batteries to be creating almost constantly with embroidery threads, one way or another, and I'm having fun this summer.

Button sorting is fun and, like embroidery thread sorting, it's a sit-down job and that's all you can do in the weather that you're having. Sorting little fabric scraps into sizes/colours is another sit-down, hot-weather job.
I hope you survive the heatwave - icypoles, cool drinks and lots of rest.
AlmaG.

Cathy, I live in Sth Aust and think that it has been TOOOOOO hot here, but feel for you poor things in WA. So glad that we are not getting your 40"s plus. My machine doesn't like the hot weather.

Hi Cathy, I understand how warm that is. I too cannot handle the heat with my machines running. Stay as cool as possible.

Hugs, Bonnie

Hi Cathy, I've been watching those temps as I used to live in Adelaide and we always got it after you guys. As Monika (aussiquilter) says it's very rainy over here. It poured here last night and we are over at Mum's today to spread 5 tonne of dirt! I do hope it hasn't washed away! Thinking of you, keep cool in the air conditioning. Love Chris

Oh I could not handle heat like that, I would rather the cold (today it is very mild here in Quebec, Canada). My favorite season is fall followed by winter, just CANNOT
handle heat

Very warm again today on my section of the East Coast! I'd prefer it cooler as well. The heat then the rain just helps the weeds grow faster :(

I'm in Southern California and we are in 80's and its winter. We can get to 108F in Summer and I don't sew either in those temps. Its cooling down time. I do most of my sewing in winter.

We are also having extreme hot weather in the Western Cape here in South Africa - although not quite as hot as you are having. We have had heatwave conditions since Christmas. Sarah
