Hey Debra, I envy you eating sloppy joes and steak, I'll trade you some of my steamed fish and chicken. LOL!!!
So glad to see your iron level sneak back up but that asthma sounds like it really needs watching.
Do take care girlfriend, you have been in my prayers.
Hugs and blessings, Meganne
I'd eat the chicken or fist. Hope you are feeling better! I have been sick from withdrawal of running out of a pain script. Emergency room got me under control.
A transfusion helped my friend feel like a new woman. Hope it does the same for you. Love and Hugs.
How was your treatment. Get lots of rest and eat well.
Got the level up but still feel tired. Ran out of pain patches and went into withdrawal, 3 hours in the ER to get that under control. Mix up between doc office and drug store.
Oh, I'm so sorry. Sounds like you've had a rough time. I knew it wasn't good when you didn't tell us how you were doing. I think about you every day.
Deb, my prayers are with you. Cheemo does depelete the iron in your system. A blood transfusion will help and I hope they give you a prescription for Liquid Iron medication. My husband had the same problem and the liquid Iron worked faster than the pills. Your system absorbs it faster.
Hope you are feeling better soon. Many hugs,
Joyce
Thanks, taking iron pills for now, we will see how that does, blood work and chemo Wednesday.
if you can get a juicer then juice up some beetroot the red dtuff this is good for the blood and if you juice carrots and brocoli stems(not the heads ) then you shoud soon see an improvement in your health as the body does not have to take vital energy in extracting the vit and nutrients it need
google health juicing cancer
Blessings annie in the uk
Don't have one, don't know if I want one. Taking iron pills so we will see for now.
Sending you a prayer and a flower and hope that blood transfusion will get you feeling better. We Cuties just don't have time to feel tired, run down and under the weather. Sending you hugs too as I know you need lots of those. Juanita
Thanks, I am up and down. More lazy than anything I think. Blood work and chemo Wednesday.
Good news!!!!! Hugs, Lidia
Thank you! Now if I could clear my lungs of the asthma congestion I'd be feeling much better. Too much work to do around the house and all hubby wants to do it run around. Too many sick people out there!
Great news on the IRON, Debra! Yeah! Asthma is tough! Did you ever try adding an antacid to all your meds? For some reason, that helps with all the mucous. I had bad asthma for three months last year and that finally helped me kick it. Love you, and hope you are breathing better soon!
Jan
Yes, I take prescription strength Omeprazole, my asthma pills make my stomach act up so I have been taking it for several years.
Deba while I have not posted I have been thinking positive thoughts for you
Keep up the great work!!!! Hope you are having a better day everyday!! Hugs DeVon
WEDNESDAY FEB 1, IRON LEVEL IS UP FROM 7.3 TO 9.6 PUTTING ME IN THE GOOD RANGE SO ALL IS RIGHT WITH THE WORLD AGAIN IF THE ASTHMA CONGESTION GOES AWAY!
Hugs, Debra
Good news. Good luck with the asthma. Are you getting a steroid in the chemo mix?
Glad here things are better, darn asthma can be very difficult to deal with, hope that gets better too,
thinking of you and praying for you
hugs
Michelel
Great news! I hope it stays up so you can continue your treatments.
Marcelle
Was taking a steroid but it hasn't helped much this time. Hate asthma, came on at age 26. Going to keep up eating as well as I can to stay healthy but not going for yucky stuff, lol!
So happy to hear it has risen and you do whatever it takes to get rid of the congestion, too. I will continue to pray for you. LOVE!
I am glad this obstacle has been conquered. On to the next. Prayers are with you. Hugs Angie
I'm so glad to hear the news. You are always in my thoughts and prayers. Love and hugs, Yoriko
Glad to hear your iron level is up, but bummer about the asthma. Hope things improve so you can get back on track.
Good to hear that prayers are being answered, that your iron level is up ...keep eating the good stuff to keep it there;>) And keep the prayers going too!;>)
Hi Deb, I hope your blood work goes well in the morning. I think about you, and pray all will be well for you. Hugs, christine Live Laugh Download Stitch!
Thanks, I am hoping it brought my iron count up enough to start chemo again next week.
Looking in on you to see how you are doing! Thinking about you daily and asking the Lord to make your days comfortable and bright! God Bless! Keep eating the iron filled and enriched foods!! ...& check to be sure you are taking the supplements that help you absorb the iron. Do not take antioxidants when you take iron...they cancel each other out. A doctor told me that;>) HUGS to you!
Thank you. Keep having muscle spasms in my lower back and today I hurt from doing too much work. Doing my best to get better. Blood work again in the morning.
Hey Deb, was just thinking about you and thought I'd check in. I remembered something else that has lots of iron.... Collard greens, turnip greens or spinach... I LOVE collards with vinegar and turnips too, but I don't care for cooked spinach, however I will eat it raw with a salad. Have you tried any of these? If you have a Crackle Barrel near by, you can get the greens from there. They use a great seasoning. :)
I do hope you are feeling better. Hugs, T
I used to eat raw spinach before they closed down our local buffet and I am not a big salad eater so I won't be eating those. Taking my iron pill, Cheerios has 50% of your daily needed iron and I eat that every morning, added raisins.
I didn't realize Cheerios had that much iron. In that case just eat the whole box...no not the box that would be fiber, but the Cheerios. hehehe....Praying the Lord will ease your pain and keep you strong. Stay positive, but lean on the Lord to renew your strength. Love you. T
Was real bad yesterday, tired and all that, called the nurse and talked to her, had a temp of 100.3 but got it down with Tylenol and today I am feeling a lot better.
I can't understand why they can't find better treatments for cancer. It can be like torture. Hang in there Deb.
Hi Deb. I just checked in and I know what you are saying about being a morning person.(me either)! I can stay up until the wee hours but mornings....:-(
You are in my prayers and I'm sending many positive thoughts your way!!
Love & Hugs, Nadyne
I am not a morning person either. I am going to bed when everyone else is getting up.
Deb, do you like fried liver? I craved it when I was expecting. I couldn't cook it (ugh)but I sure could eat it! Do they even make Geritol anymore? I remember the commercials for "iron-tired blood" and it certainly sounds like that's what you have.;)
ICK, no! Was real sick yesterday, so tired and run down, better today! Expected the new blood to work right away, guess it doesn't work that quick.
You are still in my prayers, Hope that you will find things better Wednasday. I could eat the liver for you if it would help!
I wish it worked that way too. I am going to get some raisins to snack on too. I am doing OK, still tired but Wednesday we will see what my levels are again.
Deb, I know you will feel better soon. Wil keep you in my prayers. Hugs Marie
Hi Deb, I didn't check the personal tab last few days, Was a bit running out of time. But now I did, How are you feeling now ? Hopefully your iron level is better now, 'cos indeed if it is too low, you start getting tired. Hopefully a good nights rest and those iron pills will make you a bit better. Take Care.
I think I feel a bit better today but it's still early, lol. A guy I went to school with posted to me on facebook to eat raisins, that I can do. I'm working on getting better! Defeat is not in my vocabulary!
Hoping you are surviving, and can get the iron level up. We will be thinking of you, and wishing you the best. We are all eager to know how you are doing. Glad it did go well today - rainy day, - sleep, sounds good to me.
Thanks, feeling better today Slept the whole day. Now doing the dishes, funny, hubby eats yet doesn't do the dishes even if I have them soaking and I am sleeping from being ill. hmmmmmm
I hope the transfusion will make you feel better.
My heart goes out to you Deb.
Debra
, hang in there you are low as low at moment , but very slowly you will get better. my husband had big C in 2010, all year surgery did not get it all
and had to have radio theapy, causing loads of crap. BUT>>>>>> he is slowly on the up and up from rock bottom. and may be this is where you are. so think on how nice it will be from here on. I send you love and surrport to look to each tomorrow. that you may feel better.and send you strengh to help you .xxxxxxxx PLEASE KNOW I AM THERE WITH YOU THINKING OF YOU AND PLEASE GOD HELPING TO MAKE YOU STRONG AGAIN. xx Hugs Pam.
Dear Debra, I hope it goes well for you tomorrow. Hopefully your iron will go up to an acceptable level for chemo. I pray for you, and wish you complete recovery.******
All went well, 2 bags of blood in 5 1/2 hours and I slept through most of it. Thank you!
You are a rock, and today we had a walk and I thought of you and how i hope for you to get from your rock bottom to daily walks. Hugs Pam.
May you continue to feel the love of our dear Lord Jesus. I am still praying for you. Hope you fare all the better each time you have to go. Good news on your results.***
Best wishes sweetheart, I hope that all goes well
Debra, relax and doze, while the infusion is taking place; rainy days make me drowsy anyways. I do not have your health issues, but I still feel really weak if my iron level gets below 10, so your level definitely should be pulled back up, before more chemo!
My prayers going nonstop for you!
Hugs,
Angel
Relax and doze I did, we had big fluffy snowflakes fall most of the day but nothing stuck.
Debra, We we will all continue to lift you up in prayer as you go through this difficult time. I can't imagine what you are going through but God knows and will keep you in His perfect will. Hugs, Judy
Thank you. Just tired right now and I am sure I will be better before my next chemo.
Debra, I am praying that this transfusion will help you get stronger so that you can go ahead with your needed chemo. My thoughts are with you today as you face this ordeal. I am praying for a good outcome. Hugs, Mary
Thank you Mary, I slept through most of the 2 bags of blood and was there 5 1/2 hours.
All of my best wishes and good luck. A big hug ((()))
Debra I hope it works and your iron level looks like that fro Popeye (even when we now nowerdays that spinach has not that much like they thought ;o).
Thinking on you today...
Hugs to you my dear
Bettina
Thank you Bettina my sweet, I can eat not cooked spinach but not cooked. I will eat healthy though and take my iron pills. Got 2 bags of blood and slept through most of it.
When you go for your iron infusion take a good book in case you can't just sleep. Many people just sleep through it and I hope you can too. You need the rest anyway. Hang in there.
Marcelle
I slept through most of it, took a Sudoku book and my tablet but didn't use either. 2 bags of blood and still tired.
Wow, you were really low. Debra, I am so sorry you are having to go through all this. I think of you so often. Praying for you too. Marcelle
Hi Debra, sorry to hear you are struggling with your iron. If I was closer I would bring you liver and bacon that is a great iron source. Praying you do not have to lenghten your time with chemo. In my thoughts everyday. Love and hugs Sally
Thank you, I'll eat healthy but not liver, lol! I'll take my iron pill too.
Dear Debbie,
It's already Saturday afternoon here nearly 5.00pm and I hope by now you will have finished your transfusion. I pray that your iron levels will improve with eating lots of protein and greens, otherwise you could look like this woman!! He he he! Love and blessings Chris
I do look like her Chris, lol. Big belly, hanging boobs and skinny legs, yep, that's me!
Dear Debra, you are in my prayers and thoughts. I'm also asking God give you the strength you need. Love and big hugs, Yoriko
You are in my prayers right now, I am asking the Lord to restore your iron levels to normal, to give you the strength you need, and to keep you on schedule! God can do all things!
Thank you, we will know Wednesday if it took. I'll keep an eye on what I eat till then.
Deb, we will be praying for you and hoping that between now and tomorrow - something great happens for you - did you eat a juicy piece of steak tonight for dinner? I hope so. Until we hear more from you - keep your spirits up and know we love you dearly.
Had that steak and a stuffed potato and some cucumber/tomato/onion salad. Still had to have 2 bags of blood, long day and still tired.
OH my - I hope you continue to eat this well - get some rest - let us know how you feel later, dear one.
Debra, it was the sloppy joes... I know it was. LOL... You should have eaten a good piece of fried liver and onions. Yummm... hehehe....
Sweetie, I'm sorry you are having a difficult time of this, but stay strong. God is with you and knows how much you can handle. Just let it go and let Him have the reins. Keep us informed.
Hugs, Terre... PS, you have every right to complain. LOL.... Love you.
Nooooo, they told me to eat liver but I said that was not going to happen, lol. Got 2 bags of blood, still tired, hoping to feel better tomorrow.
