Denise, this is a very lovely project - did you know my birthday is next week? JK!
Absolutely gorgeous! A very creative interpretation of the design. Where did you get the info on making a card to mail? Or did you just figure it out yourself? Penny
HI penny, i just came up with the idea on my own. All i do is stitch a placement square, on tear away or wss, which ever you prefer. Then I lay my fabric on top, redo stitching around square to hold fabric. Then i pick my pattern, to make sure it fits in stitched square, then embroider pattern. Once that is done. I put on another hoop same size as before 5x7, then repeat as first part. Then i stitch down another piece of fabric, and maybe add some ribbon to sides,
the 5x7 square. Then I embroider the pattern on. Remove hoop from machine, not the fabric from hoop. Then i rehoop another hoop with stablizer and redo the placement stitch. I add other fabric (this is for backing of card)then i decide whether to add more embroidery or not, but add ribbons to side of square.
whether to add more embroidery, i also add the ribbons, then i go back to first part of placement stitching to hold ribbon in place. Once that is done, i remove second hooping from machine, then trim it close to stitching, careful not to clip stitching.I usually go around it at least a couple times so the ribbon doesn't move. once its all trimmed, i remove it from hoop. I take the first hooping , take the second one and place it on back, i use to use adhesive spray for this part, but my last card shifted , so this time i used masking tape to hold second part of card behind. I lay it in center, keep away from stitching area. Don't be worried, use at least four pieces of masking tape.
usually go around second card twice for placement stitching. Make sure second fabric and ribbons don't move.
Once this is done, i trim it as close as possible, at least 1/8 of an inch. Then i stick it to the backing of front/card here, I use masking tape.
Don't be afraid to use at least four to five pieces of masking tape, I lay it in center of card then lay back fabric card from second hooping. I use pins to make sure back and front corners meet exactly. Then i redo one more time the placement stitch, even twice wont hurt it. Then continue till it goes through all stitches but not last one, here i trim it again to 1/8 of an inch. Its still on hoop, then finish last stitch which is the satin stitching. Completed. I'll make another one today. This time i'll take pics and explain as i go.
even go twice around for this placement stitching. Then i trim off extra fabric/stablizer at least 1/8 of an inch. continue to the end and its done. I'll make another card today, and i'll take pics to show and explain as i go along.
I used spray adhesive for my first card, it shifted abit, wasn't to happy so i decided to try masking tape. It works great. If i take pics and explain, might understand it better then my writing.LOL i'm not good at writing instructions. So i'll go get it started and post pics of new card once it's done. I'll call it my Blue bird card. See you later, bye for now. :) HUGS
started on new card. I'll call it my Blue Bird card. See you later, bye for now.HUGS

Thank you everyone, sorry I'm slow today replying back. The site is called. needlework.ru just register and then go to freebie area , its new so still should be available for free. Also once you register then send freebies once or twice a month. Thank you for flowers. I may add this card to donations for hospital auxilary as a get well card. Thanks for looking :) Hugs
I didn't recognize it as a shoe until I read other comments. Adding the flowers makes it looks sew elegant. Really nice job. I also like the piping around the edges and, the way you finished it off on the back makes it look so professional. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks cj2sew, its not piping around edge its the satin stitching, i added alot of layers, thats why its so thick looking i think LOL Thank you for compliment happy you like my idea :) hugs
I came back to look again and read up on your project hear and looked again. I didn't notice it
was a shoe at first. This is really creative and beautiful and I did get the design. I'm going to use
your idea for my Mom for Mothers day. Just lovely.

Awesome she will LOVE IT Linda, please post pic when its done. I'd love to see your version, Hugs Denise
HI all, I would like to also thank faerynutt for the 5x7 square to use for this card. She used if for ITH tp holder, I didn't use her stippling this time. But I definitely needed this 5x7 placement and satin stitching. Thanks again faerynutt, HUGS Denise.:)
For the flower on back, i pretended i was stitching the front again. I made machine jump to second flower on left bottom, thats how i got the back flower stitched. A little touch of more color for backing. When i look at it now, i should of added a tiny pearl in center where there is no flower.. what do you think? Thanks for looking and for the flowers, :) Hugs. Denise
Hi redbilbob, i got this freebie at a site called needlework.ru Once you register go to freebie area you should see it. They send you freebies every so often. Thanks for looking :)
Lovely designs and like how you finished off the back.
Thank you capoodle, i added the flower by making machine jump to that area of flower cluster. I didnt know how else to get a part of flower to put on back. I thought it wouldn't look so plain with one sitting in corner. Hugs
This is a beautiful design and your card is worth keeping. I find the ribbon at the back a great idea - so nice to be able to add any message you wish. Thanks for showing.
Thanks mops, i cut a piece of fabric about 1 3/4 wide, sprayed a tiny bit of adhesive and added the lace over it. pressed it, cut in 1/2 of lenght. I like the idea if given to someone you can write what you like. I wish i knew how to make my own writing with program.
with program i have. Then i could add it in embroidery also. Happy you like my idea and your welcome :)
Beautiful job.:):)
Thank you gigi for your kind words. Next one i think i'll try it in pink or white. It's suppose to be a dogwood flower. I looked it up on web to see what colors they are. :) hugs
Very nice, I downloaded this freebie today as well, nice to see it stitched out so well,
hugs
Michelle
Thank you Michelle, are you going to stitch it out? I should of removed the tear away out of the back panel.. it puckered abit when i removed it from hoop. Oh well i'll know for next time. I reduced it 10% on machine so it would fit in the 5x7 card frame. No problems with stitching at all... so pleased with it. Hugs Denise
it is a tight squeeze but worked out alright for this one. I'm still experimenting with my cards. Learning can be so much fun...LOL Hugs
ok loading second pic again LOL ... its not my day..
very pretty. I have made some cards before I got my embroidery machine and hand stitched them. You can actually mail them to the person intended by putting their address on the back and the correct postage. I had the Post office put it in a clear bag to protect it from the machinery. Very pretty card backing!
