Penguin.

I've been trying to make a penguin puppet (right); it looks strange in the picture as it's one black mass, but a lot better in real life. Turning the arms inward make it look a bit better (left). A bit shorter at the bottom and it would be nice as a cuddly toy.
I stitched the wings separately and attached them under the white applique.

I think the one on the right could be a football player if he only had a helmet. These are cute. Thank you for sharing.

If you do the white like you have and just did the arms and body like the other ones, except rounder, I think it would look just like a penguin. Just my thought, I love all the rest.LOL

Well, I really did it the other way round - I already had this penguin in my design folder as cuddly toy before I changed it to this glove puppet.

Penguins don't fly, I know, but I would not call those things flippers.

Stitching was as I made it out of a remnant of fleece, machine did not like stitching over 3 layers to attach it or 4 when it stitched the white. So no more thick material when I try to do something like that again.

spendlove by spendlove 13 Feb 2012

The fleece in the cheap blankets is good for this sort of thing as it is thinner!

mops by mops 13 Feb 2012

Yes, they are very disappointing as blankets. Never thought of using them for this purpose, would vreate a lot of leftover material but that might be useful as wadding for something - bags or so.
