Hi everyone. I am a social worker at two elderly housing sites in our town. Some of the ladies would like to work on projects for other organizations. We are looking at mastectomy bags and also kits for women who enter domestic violence shelters. I'd love a list of other ideas/project organizations to present to them. I found the post on the Dragonfly Project- looking for more to add. Anyone know of others? Thank you

You might try this site. On the left are some charitable projects with patterns you can print out directions for plus many other projects. Maybe you can
find a few things there.

You may have to copy and paste it to get it to come up. What a wonderful thing to do. blessings...

As someone who has been through a domestic abuse Center years ago I think what you are doing is wonderful. How about teddy bears, blankets, or something like that for the police or fire stations to give to children to comfort them in emergencies?
My daughter left an abusive relationship a while bck and did what I could to help herwith clothes and such for her kids. A few teachers form the school also bought clothes for my granddaughter, has the little girls daddy would not give her clothes to my daughter. I helped my granddaughter make thank you cards for the teachers to let them know how much she appreciated what they did for her. Thankfully my other daughter is involved with a loveing caring man who treats her with respect. I made many changes over the years and swore I would never get involved wit another abuse man. I thought I was going to grow old without a husband until 10 years ago when I met the wonderful caring man I am now happily married to. I give to domestic abuse centers as much as I can, for without them and caring councilors I would have just repeated the same mistakes over again.
God Bless you

There are so many projects.

One would be small outfits for underweight newborns, (bonnets, gowns, blankets), who die and can be shown to their parents in baby clothes.

People with cancer or other long term illnesses can use soft hats, walker bags, bedside cases to hold items, etc.

Perhaps you could phone your local hospitals or pediatic facilities and ask what they need.

Some of the ladies here are participating in (or have participated in) projects making dresses from pillowcases for African orphans, quilts, or other special things. A brief search on the computer should give you a wealth of opportunities. Sadly, the whole world needs help.

Best of luck in your quest. I'm sure that other members can give you more specific information.

I made baby clothes for a friend's grandson that was a tiny premie & used the newborn Cabbage Patch doll patterns! Fit him great...until he started growing like crazy! Thankfully!
