Did you try to restore your computer back to time before the problem started? restore can be found in
Programs under Accessories
Don't you just love happy endings....
wasn't game enough to turn off the comp. in case they went away again but had to in the end. LOL. Turned it back on & they were still there thank goodness. A real mystery!!
Thank you all for your advice & especially sewbadly for such a detailed reply & we tried most of what you
advised but MY FOLDERS ARE BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!don't know how or why or where they've been but looks like the gremlins have gone. LOL. We did the update from buzztools yesterday & today I went back to the site looking for the buzz catalogue that danababe mentioned, couldn't find it so went back to my buzzexplore & did a check for updates again & to my surprise it loaded something, even though it was done yesterday & poof.... there were the folders. It can't be anything new that the buzz site put on o/n as the latest 1 has to be purchased, they were free up to this 1, anyway doing a happy dance now as I can see what I'm working on, so thank you all again

I had something like that happen to me a bit ago... it was an obvious fix.... so, take a deep breath and lets see what happenes.
In the box file types to show
I show:
- All file types
- Supported File Types
+Embroidery
+Graphics
+Windows
Unsupported File Types
Under View I show:
Explorer Mode highlighted
Thumbnails highlighted
Filter File Types is checked
Show Zip Contents is also checked.
Any of this getting us anywhere?
In the Explore Folders box... where the yellow and red icons should be showing up...
Well, I think this is where I got goofed up. Somehow, the folders where the designs should be... well, they were still there but something else somehow was highlighte
Just double check that you are following the right pathway.
Mine is my main folder name,
then, Embroidery.
Followed by the rest of my filing tree.
I seem to recall my pc redirecting to highlight Desktop and My Documents under that... and that simply did not work for me.
Where you want it to point should have
"-" signs preceeding the folders.
If you are showing pluses where you think you want to be... click on that folder.
Sorry, I am not overly technical.... but, I certainly feel your pain.
... and that is simply not where I wanted to be.
folders you want to be in should have the minus (-) sign in front.
Sorry I am not technical. I don't know what caused BuzzXplore to redirect for me.... could have been me messing with one of the other Buzz programs that are grouped.
Really hope something clicks for you. I can relate to your distress... as we all can. I'll check back in the morning and see if all is well, again.
GOOD LUCK !
Just had another quick thought.
When you insert a USB disk into your pc, and click on the Computer / Your drive / and all the rest... do your files that are on the usb drive show up?
I hope you have had the problem solved. But if not, then go to your Windows Explorer and do a search for one of the folder names. When there is a system crash, sometimes things get rearranged. So if you can locate ONE of the folders, then the others should be nearby. I seriously doubt that it is gone. It has just been "misplace" or renamed by your computer. If you have a folder named "embroidery", just search that without any file extensions. If this helps, feel free to PM me so that I'm sure to see it and I'll help you get it arranged the way you want again. I had that problem with Mozilla, so finally went and got an external hard drive and now save everything directly to that. Haven't lost or had misplaced a single file since then!!! Good luck!!
Have you recently installed some other software which is associated with zip folders?
I have Buzz Catalogue and went into the help section and this is what it says about zips:
"It is easy to include ZIP files in your catalog. On the Select Files dialog, choose from the following ZIP display options.
None – Zip files are not included in your catalog.
As Files – The files within each ZIP file are treated as other files in your catalog and are displayed along side other “
unzipped” files in same folder. The files are sorted by the file name and not the name of the ZIP file that contains them. The name of the file is displayed before the name of the ZIP and is separated from it by a >.
As Folders – (Not shown) The ZIP files are treated as folders within Buzz-Catalog. It is important to remember that if you select this option, each ZIP will start on its own page in the catalog. If you happen to have a lot of ZIP files in your catalog that contain only one file each, you will end up with lots of pages in your catalog with only one design per page."
Having quoted all that, it might just be easier for me to tell you I have mine set to Display as Folders, and so I get the little yellow folder icon for all my zips ..which didnt turn out to be any shorter in saying lol I hope this makes sense and helps you out. xXx
PT2...... helped. we have uninstalled & reinstalled programme 3 times, also restored settings on the comp. but NOTHING....... Can anyone help me please!!!!!!!!! Just don't know what to try next.
TIA

Hi Irene I'm no computer wizz but did you try to reset your computers date about 2days earlier at 'System Restore', I had a mishap before and that worked for me. I hope this will help Hugs Louise
Hi Louise, yes we did that & then my mozilla crashed so we had to unrestore what we had just done. I'm at my wits end & so is DH in fact he's really getting cranky. LOL. But thank you anyway.
