Dear Peggy,
hang in there - it it worth all the labour.
My first quilt was the double wedding ring. Very easy all you have to do is do it Eleanor Burn's method - Quilt in a Day and it'll be a piece of cake. No curved piecing but looks exactly like the curved double wedding ring. See how pretty
I tried to have a look at the instructions and the videos, but on all links given I got error 404.

Hi Peggy, did you get the help you needed with this quilt? I just finished mine and it is on the bed! It is so beautiful. Send me a pm and let me know what I can do to guide you through this. I am sending you a pm with my email.

Peggy I have been quilting now for 8 years and the first quilt I made was a Log Cabin. Then I fell in love with the Pineapple, Dresden, and Double Wedding Ring designs. Well I purchased the patterns, templates, fabric and etc. I still have yet to finish the Pineapple and Double Wedding Ring. I put them in containers until I gained a little more experience. I probably could do them now but.....
If you can find a Quilt Guild in your area there would be someone who could help you one on one.
I have made many quilt and I would not attempt that quilt. Good Luck..
I don't know what got into me. I quess that is the one quilt that I love the most. And I wanted. But someone to make it for me the costs is out of this world.
You chose a very hard pattern to learn to quilt. I have one that my grandmother attempted and it wouldn't go together. She was a wonderful quilter and still quilting at age 87. I discovered she had two different templates sets for the quilt which were different sizes, so that was why it wouldn't go together. I good beginner quilt is the split rail quilt. Look online for the pattern. It is one of the easiest out there. You are only sewing 3 strips and turning them in different directions.
Thank you. I will have to try that. My husband thinks I have quit. But I am still trying to figure out how to piece it togetherin my head.
I saw your question last night but got interrupted and wasn't able to answer. Did the videos and tutorials help? If not, then repost with specific questions and it might be easier to help you through. That is quite a complex design, so do not feel like you are failing. That is a VERY advanced design.
I have been watching videos to where my head hurts. I went thru a brain surgery 3 years ago. And it hurts worse than going thru the surgery. But I am not giving up. Thanks.
I see you have some great videos to watch. I did my ONE AND ONLY Double Wedding Ring for my Mother. I made it early on in my quilt experience. It takes some time to machine piece but the finished product is very nice. Pin, pin, pin is the best advice I can give. Good luck and can't wait to see your project.
I have made two of these, they are eaier pieced if you do it by hand at lest the curved part. But set the small pieces on the sewing machine. some people do this in stripes then cut out you ring.
Dear peggy,
There are 3 pages of great instructions for a Wedding Ring quilt here. Love Chris
Maybe I have to attack it from this angle. I can read and re-read it again. Thank you for your help.
here is a tutorial with patterns & instructions,& another youtube video, this is not a beginner quilt! I wish you the best of luck
I have been hoping that I could speak to someone in front of me to show me. I have been going to Joann's every week to catch the lady who does the quilting. But no luck.
Hi Peggy, You are quite ambitious to be making such a complex quilt as a beginner. I hope that you do not get disenchanted with quilting because it is a bit too difficult. If this happens, just put it away for a little while and try a quilt which is easier to start with. Good luck
The perfect beginner quilt is either Log cabin or Courthouse steps. Other than just 4 or 5 inch squares these are perfect for beginners. But the Double Wedding Ring was too challenging for me at the time I started.
I can see now this is not a beginner quilt. And I have already put it away and come back to it. I already have all pieces cut. And the large center sections have been embroidered.
Hi Peggy,
There is a great video on YouTube about quilting the Double wedding ring quilt. It's about 25 minutes and well worth watching. Good luck, I've never made one and it's quite labour intensive. Love and blessings Chris
