you are all so sweet to remember my Mother (Miss Loretta) - I am so sorry that I didn't see some of your post before now. Thank you each - she loved you so very much and did enjoy all the time that she shared with you each and loved the gifts that were sent to her in her final year or so, as well. She especailly remembered each week when she got her hair done. Love to each of you.
I have the most light and kind memories about Loretta Jean Greenman. Her humor and optimism helped me to resolve different issues in my life. I'm happy that I knew her. Miss Loretta will always be here in the CUTE community.
Thank you, dear Cuties, for remembering Miss Loretta. She will always be in our hearts ...
My prayers are for you, dear Shirlene.
thank you so very much my dear one - you are so very sweet to have posted this.
Dear Shirlene, I miss Ms Loretta too. I have good memories from her.
Love and hugs, Yoriko
She sounds like a great lady, and as they say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. She taught you well.
Shirlene, I miss her too. She was so wonderful, so funny, such a dear and caring person. I wish her loving ways could rub off on everyone, the world would surely be a better place. Our Cute Community would never have been the same without her, I thank God often for just having known her. Thanks for the beautiful pictures, and the memories. I know you'll always have her in your heart, but I know, too, that sometimes it would still be nice if you could just take her hand and tell her so. Well, someday you will again. My love to you, Marji
Shirlene I remembered her face as soon as I saw the post.. I remembered how she would occassionally come on here and say something...Miss Loretta will always be in our hearts...Rick and yourself also...Happy times and memories...hugs Kerry

Don't beat yourself up over not being there- she knew how much you loved her, you showed it in a million ways and she was lucky to have you.

Linda
Linda, we did move across the country to care for her - so those years we did have some great memories to look back on.
Shirlene much has happened to you in the past two years. Birthdays are still remembered by those left behind. Sorry you were not able to be with her at the end. This is a lovely picture of her
Carolyn, thanks - it would have been nice to tell her goodbye and that I love her. I wasn't five minutes away, just at the hospital down the road. Both of her pictures are lovely - she always took a good picture.
Shirlene thinking of you on this day( sorry i am late) It was also my Lil sis birthday. Memories are wonderful. Just wrap yourself up in your Beautiful Cute quilt and feel the love. Pauline x
Pauline, I am not sad - I honor her with love and joy. I do that often dear.
Shirlene, I think it is so wonderful that you had such a great mother. And, you got to enjoy her for many many years. You shared your love of family and so many other things, including machine embroidery. How special is that! I can tell she was a very special woman, and I'm sorry I didn't get to know her. But, in a way, I do know her, through the loving woman you are, and the way you share her memory with all of us. I still have my mother, and I will call her tomorrow and remind her how much I love her, as my way of honoring the love you still have in your heart for your mother. Hugs, Jan
It's been 15 yrs since I lost my mother and hardly a day goes by without me thinking of her in some way. I miss her still and always will. That's why love goes on I guess It never goes away. I still wish I could pick up the phone and call her just to hear voice again. Same with my Dad. It's good that you still think of her often. She would have wanted it that way, I'm sure. Bless you,
Meri
Meri, thank you dear - I feel for you - as the years slip by - I always feel - that they are with us - when we think about them.
Thinking of you & your mum who is no longer here to enjoy her b/day....but the memories remain. God bless.
Your Mom was a wonderful person and she raised a wonderful daughter. When my mind wanders back to the joyful remembrances of my dear Mom (gone 11 years now) this helps to ease the pain:
It takes a Mother's Love
To make a house a home,
A place to be remembered,
no matter where we roam.
It takes a Mother's Patience
to bring a child upright,
And her Courage and Cheerfulness,
to make a dark day bright.
It takes a Mother's Thoughtfulness
to mend the heart's deep "hurts",
And her Skill and Endurance,
to mend little socks and shirts.
It takes a Mother's Kindness
to forgive us when we err,
To sympathise in trouble,
and bow her head in prayer.
It takes a Mother's Wisdom
to recognize our needs,
And to give us reassurance,
by her loving words and deeds.
It takes a Mother's Endless Faith
her Confidence and Trust,
To guide us through the pitfalls,
of selfishness and lust.
And that is why in all this world
there could not be another
Who could fulfill God's purpose
as completely as a Mother.
