The video for the rag purse is at www.youtube.com
I dont think links work but there are several videos
just search rag purse and it shows this technique.
Technique:
Another thing I learned on internet was some add extra fabric to edges because only 2 layers less fringe but I prefer to add a border. but this is just a small doll blanket so left it along.

Aren't the scallops going to disappear after washing?
There is a youtube video in which a quilter used this scallop die to make a rag purse and it looked lovely. They said you can cut either closer or by the scallops I like the lacey scallop look for the dolls.
Oh and a brief gentle handwash setting inside a pillowcase. Then excess fibers picked up with a lint roller.
Which of your die-cut machines do you like and use most and would you recommend one over the other? Jan
Well, I have the electric cricut expression which is my favorite so naturally I got the cuttlebug for embossing but I would like to get the Sissix Westminster Pro or Accuquilt Studio for large quilting dies.
By rigging my matts on the cuttlebug I can use Sizzix BigZ dies and a lot of accuquilt dies for quilting- I love the ease and perfect cuts. Hope this answers.
Oh cricut will cut fabric but needs iron-on stabilizer and for raggy we want it to
fray.
What do you do with freezer paper? Iron on to fabric and cut? Thats a great idea.
I didn't upgrade to Imagine because I liked the freedom of using any svg file and cricut studio etc.
One more thing I forgot. If you do get interested in accuquilt cutting dies. Amazing designs has a coordinating CD set of 30 designs for the heart dies for quilting and applique with fancy fills etc. if you dont want to rag quilt or used
as standalone with our usual ME applique.
Thanks for all the info. It sounds as though you've had lots of practise and have got lots of equpiment and dies. I would like one machine that cuts felt really well. Jan
Those are the neatest scallops and like all the layers it makes. Would like to see how it looks after a few washing's.
I would use this technique as decorative on low washing to very little and gentle
to preserve the scallops. Like the rag quilt on utube or a doll quilt.
