have you seen this website... I have a ULT2001 and thought this site was useful
Very strange: When I click on the link leads me just to a 404-error-page. When I remove the /ultfixit.html I come to the mainhomepage and then I clicked on "ULT fixit page" I reached the description. This is great! Thanks :o)
sorry about that, I had copied the addy from my browser.. Go figure. glad you found it in the end.
How do I take the flywheel off. It is really tight and I think that might be the problem as it is really tight! Thanks for all your suggestions!
I have no ide a of what the squeaking could be, but I would clean it out good and oil it again. Then let it rest a little while, to cool down again. I hope that will help. Hope you can resolve it.****
My White 3300 (made a long time ago by Brother) is doing the same thing. I've not sewn on it much since the last maintenance. It sews just fine but can't stand that loud squeak!
If you resolve yours -- please post what you did....meanwhile I'll try the things the other cuties have mentioned. I have never taken the top off my machine... but will now. I have another Brother so can still sew...but would like to have this one for small designs.
GOOD LUCK
MJDG
check around the bobbin winder sometimes machine will pull a loose thread into there when winding then machine will squeal.
check the fly wheel the big one on the end ??carolyn
The fly wheel is really tight - how does it come off ... I think that is where the squeak is coming from.... How does it come off?????
Jan, if you have not resolved the machine problem and squeaking, check the upper gears for more thread pieces. I had to unscrew the left top cover of my machine to expose the gears; then found thread twisted around the gears. I snipped with my trimmer, then carefully removed each piece with tweezers. It worked fine after that.
Hugs,
Angel
I've grown brave enough to do that, and found so much gold thread it looked like a golden gear. Can't find even a tiny curl of any more thread.....
I know the feeling of the machine quiting when you
need it. I hope its nothing to bad. That noise is not a good sound. My old machine if it ran to long
got overheated and made strange noises. I would leave it rest for a while and see if after it cools down it still squeaks.
Hey Jan I hope your machine "heals itself". however if it does not and you have to come to Denver I am willing to assist you any way I can. Stay safe! christine Live Laugh Download Stitch!
Christine, where do you live in the Denver area? We need to get together sometime!!! Do you go to Rocky Mountain Sewing? I go to the one of Cross Street down by SW plaza. At least we can go to lunch!
OH NO, Jan......hate when the machine makes a strange noise.....have no clue. Do you have a dealer close by that you can call? Vicki
What are you doing up so late :-) There is a dealer down in Denver, but the weather is terrible, lots of snow AND wind. I just can't open it up enough to find what is causing the problem. grrrrr I just want to sew and it wants to squeak!!!
