You know that I am working on one.. Well, it is in the washing machine!!! I will show it off at work and then mail it!! I will take a pic after it gets out of the dryer!
I did get a little scissor happy. I need to add an applique to the end of it. Anyone with half a flower that I can overlap??
Alexgrandma / Judy
Two more dear friends said they would each do one! That puts us at 73!
I am not up on this quilt project{haven't seen much on it}But am very interested in helping. What do you mean by 2 layer quilt? Are they just two layers of cotton without any batting in them? Also can they be any pattern or is there a specific thing they have to be? Please give me a little more info and I will try to do a couple in time. I make and send quilts to Pine Ridge Reservation quite often and enjoy it so why not Uganda??
I could post the link here but they usually don't work so I have found the original post and brought it back to the top. It is a post titled "CAN YOU HELP" by hightechgrammy.

I received 4 new quilts to add to the stack! One from Chris in Australia and three from Grace, Colmom in Nebraska! Wow! are they awesome! I'm going to try to get photos this weekend! Wonderful quilts! Thank YOU Chris and Grace! God bless YOU both!
Also, if any of you have 1 inch ribbon in your stash to donate, that would be great too! We'll use that to tie them up and make them ready to give!
Thanks again!
Good news! Those who have told me you cannot complete - I have already had new people step up and tell me they can make exactly the same number! Actually we are 1 ahead at this moment! Yeah! So we are at 72! We still have 2 months to go. I just thought of two other friends to call - it's dangerous being one of my friends these days!
Our God is an Awesome God
He reigns from Heaven Above
With wisdom ......?????
Our God(our God) is an awesome God
He reigns(He reigns) from heaven above
With wisdom(with wisdom) pow'r and love
our God is an awesome God! Great song!!!! Love Chris
Thanks, Chris, I couldn't remember those words!
When God gave us a miracle and took Ben's seizures away, that song went through my head for about 3 months straight! Can't believe I couldn't remember that line!
I think it might have been 2:00 a.m. he he I need to share that story sometime :-) We BELIEVE in miracles
For those of us a bit behind the ball here. Can you give us the original post, I thought I saw a list of prefer you not use these animals and such information.
Thank you
Diane
Hi Diane, I have no idea where the first post ended up. Good animals to use are the African animals like giraffes, elephants, monkeys. And their domestic animals are cows, sheep and goats. Dogs and cats aren't pets, but scary wild animals to the little children. Keep colors medium, as it is dusty there and the quilts will not be washed in clear water.
PM me with any questions :-) Thanks! We have most of the larger quilts we need, still need the smaller ones for boys. But, these children are not "genderized."

Jan you have been touched by God to complete this project. My prayers are with you and the group to complete all necessary things in time.
May God bless you in all things.

Jacqueline, Truly, it was like I was hit over the head to do this! Sometimes he speaks to us softly, sometimes it's a lightning bolt. This was a whole thunderstorm! The response from everyone has been truly amazing. Isn't it wonderful to be put to work by our Lord?! Please pray for 90 and funding for postage and shipping them on the plane to Uganda. God Bless YOU too! Jan
work by our Lord. Please pray for 90 quilts to be completed and here by May 1st, and funding for postage and the extra charges for them on the plane to Uganda. They will be hand delivered! God bless YOu too!
I am so praying! and I believe in His deliveries! and He was delivering before FedEx and UPS!
our quilt will be mailed this weekend, have to get the shipping box. dd took pictures of the quilt & kids for scrapbooks & facbook. the grandkids are really excited about the quilt the made.
what would be the latest date for them to reach you so you can get them ready? maybe do a doll or hairbow..what do the boys play with?
Could be Hand Puppets, Finger puppets, small flattish type ITH soft animals
I'm making Tic tac toe boards for the older boys and hope to make soft animals
for the smaller ones.
Oh, That sounds so neat that you included the grandkids on this project! I'll be sure to let you know when it arrives.
Any little handmade items are great, as long as they are tiny, and lightweight. No food. Just little items to be packed in with the quilts that don't add much weight at all. How Fun!
the quilts that don't add bulk or weight! How fun that will be for them! Thank you!
Hi Jan, my 2 will go out next week. If you would like to send me a couple of your kits I can get them completed within the time frame too. Just send me a PM if needed.
Hugs

I am sorry I can't do this . I made another and took it to post office and was still going to cost $35 Plus When I take my quilts to Bali I put them in space saver bags so they don't take up as much space
Raelene
Raelene, please don't feel bad - that shipping cost is way too high and it makes it prohibitive. We totally understand. You are helping just as much in Bali - the need is just the same. God will provide the quilts we need for Uganda, please know we know you are doing a lot to help in Bali! God Bless YOU!
all understand. There are needs all over the world, and needs locally too. We help where we can, and in more than one place. I am making some items for the local animal shelter too - LOL. God Bless YOU for helping in Bali! Hugs, Jan
Jan I hope you have taken pictures of all of them. I would love to see them, as I am sure everyone else would too. Love and blessings Chris
I am going to take as many pictures as I can of them. I just don't have very good light in any place in my house, but I'm going to do my best. They are just amazing! I can feel the love just spill out of the boxes with the quilts!
Dear Jan - As you know I live in SA but I am afraid that I know no one going to Uganda. Please post a picture when all the quilts are rolled and ready for their journey. Hugs Sarah.
I sure will take photos. Aren't they going to be attractive all rolled and squished together!! It's exciting seeing them stack up taller and taller in my sewing room. It's going to be quite a large container - probably at least two.
My quilt is on the cutout table as i type :)
Are you using a rotary cutter? Boy that goes a lot faster! What kind are you making? Isn't it fun?!? Thank you, and God bless you for helping! hugs, Jan
Hugs and Flowers to all.
What a fab project everyone is undertaking.
Best wishes.
From Bev
Jan I have one in the making but the fabric for my second one did not happen, so unless I can get to Penrith shops again, I'm afraid the second one may not eventuate.
But don't give up on me yet, where there's a will, there's a way. :-)))
Hugs and love, Meganne
Ray is going to take me to Penrith on Tuesday. WOOHOO!!! Will see if the shop has any of the (special) fabric left, that I was trying to buy for my second quilt. Are you listening Big Man???
WahHoo! Don't over do yourself, Meg! Sounds like fun - how far is that from home? My husband hates fabric stores. He always wants me to hurry up and get out. You can't hurry in fabric stores. There IS NO hurrying in fabric stores... grrrrr
Jan
You are doing such a great job. I think I would be bitting my fingernails with worry.
I am doing preety good with my project for Uganda
I have the hairclips done just need to put together
Today I made 20 ITH bags for the girls and plan to finish the 20 for the boys in the next couple of days. Then I'll work on the next quilt I have for the smaller boys. May God Bless this endeavor and
help everyone with their goals.
Oh and if I can make a rag quilt most anyone can!
Hugs
Linda aka Bumblebee
Wow, LInda, 20 bags in one day - that's outstanding! I'd love to see a photo of what they look like! Isn't it a fun project? I think i'm hooked. Every time a see a piece of fabric now, I'm evaluating it to see how I could use it - he he. Thanks and blessings,
Jan
Hi Jan,
This is such a wonderful project. And as I have told you, I will put together as many quilts as possible. I plan to pack one of the large size flat rate mailing boxes to send to you. I have four completed quilts and many more in process. But life has hit me hard the past few weeks so everything was put on hold. I'm hoping that this weekend will turn things around a tad bit. But I WILL stay in touch with you regarding my progress. This is a very fun project, and I would like to get as many quilts as possible ready for you. I'll post them as they get finished. You are doing such a wonderful service for these youngsters!! It is so sad that they have to grow up with no parents. Good luck, and DO expect me to come through with my promise well before the deadline!!
Deanna
Deanna, I know you have really been busy with both your mom and your mother-in-law and that has really slowed you down. Life does happen, even when we are busy doing other things :-) I know you are really working hard on them and I can't believe you already have 4 finished! yOu Rock!! Don't worry.... I'm not :-) God Bless YOU
all you have already done! The most important thing now is to get those two mothers back home and healthy :-) there is plenty of time for quilts :-) Hugs and a HUGE THANKS, Jan
