Just wanting to thank all of you for the responses..I am sitting here trying to decide what colors I really need lol..I am planning to buy the large set..I was debating on buying the larger spools in the colors I use most..Would I be able to use them with my little SE-400? So much to learn! I am in the process of selecting the right software and the 10 needle machine..My brain is in over drive..I just hope the big machine will like Metro too lol..I am so greatful I found this blog y'all are so supportive ..

Of course you can! You can purchase a thread stand-base with metal bar that is about 10-12" high with a bend at the end to hold the thread up, just make sure to put it to the back of the machine, away from the balance wheel. If I sew in the dining room, I have a large safety pin taped to the light, and run the thread through that, and down to the machine. Anything to get it up first and then go to the machine.

Nice! lol I will be making many Texas emblems on ties for the missionaries and red ,white and blue will go fast..thank you
