Here's an update on my son Michael. He had an Echo-cardiogram & ultra sound of the chest. He still has the pressure on his chest, but Thank God there were no blockages. They did find a leaky valve on the left side of the heart. He has had a murmur since childhood, so that could be part of the problem. I also think some of it is stress, I guess we'll just have to wait and see. At least it not an emergency and is fixable even though it will probably mean surgery. I wish he was up here, but that's not going to happen so I just keep praying. Thanks to all of you. Arlene

So glad there was a doctor able to see he quickly. It's difficult being so far away and not knowing what is happening.

You're right now it's just waiting for the rest of the test, but at least it's not an emergency. Thanks

Thank you Arlene for the update on Michael. Perhaps he will not need surgery after all. I will keep you all in my thoughts. Hugs Sarah.

That's what I am hoping, but I guess we just have to wait and see. Thank so much.

Good to hear that it's not too serious & should be able to be taken care of.

That is good news. My husband had a aortic valve prolapse (murmur/leaky valve) since birth. His was replaced on June of 2001 at the age of 52. He started showing signs of fatique and all of a sudden got light headed. He was a motorcycle trooper so it had to be taken care of. He had a skin cancer removed without antibiotics which caused him to get endocarditis (infection or inflammation on the heart or valve). The damage to the valve that the endocarditis caused pushed up the need for his valve replacement surgery. I say all of that to say that your son may need to have an antibiotic for any dental procedures or surgery. He also should to be careful with any skin injuries/infections. Not to stick my nose in but thought I'd mention the above. I'm sure his cardiologist will provide him with all the information he needs. I guess I thought I should at least meantion what we were told. Glad he is doing well now. Maybe you'll be able to visit him some time soon.

Thanks for the info. I'm sure at this point things will be OK or at least I hope so, & he's got to reduce his stress. Thanks again.
