Could somebody please tell me if there is a limit to the size of photo files that can be uploaded in Projects?

I have been trying to upload a photo of my "One Tie Purse" to projects and the circle just keeps going round and round and nothing happens. I reduced the size of the file but it made no difference. The files are between 600kb and 700kb. Reducing them any further distorts the colours dreadfully. I haven't tried to upload for ages but when I did it before I had no problems. What am I doing wrong?

I just tried something that worked!! I emailed a picture and the program asked if it could make it smaller and I said yes and then I saved the smaller version in a separate file and uploaded that one to Projects. That was the sheep hand towels, because that one was too wide and would not upload. See if it works for your picture.

My email used to give me that option, but now just sends without any query about file size, up to 10mb. My photos are already smaller than that. Thanks.

I have no idea about how many pixels!!! I reduce mine to 50-60% Hope that helps. Sarah.

I forgot to add that by reducing mine by about half has no effect on the colour at all. Try.

I have already reduced quality by 50% and any further reduction effects the colour very much. Thanks.

There is something that changes the number of pixels per inch. Usually when you save, it will ask what quality. email quality is fine because the internet only supports 72 dpi.

I used to have software with that option but I can't find it on my new stuff. will have to see if I can find my old photo software to install. New computer came with new programs and I am still trying to learn them. Thanks

Dear Bev, I asked this question too. I'm adding a page of answers for you. I think they can't be more than 3000kb's (or something like that) Love Chris

Just noticed you said yours are 600!!! I know they can't be bigger than 6x8 inches. I'm not sure what that is in kilabytes, or jpegs, or whatever they use. I'd check the settings on your camera first. That was my problem.

I used my old Kodak 4 megapixel camera. Photos from it are smaller in all ways to my newer 8mp one. Thanks Chris.

Hi, check the name of the file - you need to use letters and numbers only, no spaces, no symbols. perhaps that is it ?
