I was going to say, check to see if your top thread has come out of the tension, or off of the take-up hook. Changing the thread forced you to rethread the machine, thus probably correcting the problem. Not really a problem with the thread itself.

Never mind, as I was typing I thought to myself, did I change the thread I was sewing with? So as soon as I got finished, I changed and guess what? Problem solved. Maybe this will help someone else. Betty
