My first coaster: I did not have any batting to put in between, so I used a part of an old white T-shirt. At the back I also used a part of an old T-shirt. I need to learn to cut a bit closer to the design before I sew the border, and also next time, for the border I need to use top and bottom same thread. What do you do ? design from Maria’s Embroidery

It's lovely. Every time I stitch something I learn and try to adjust the next time.

You did a great job. Try using Curved Bull nosed embroidery scissors they are a help when cutting around appliques in the hoop you can cut closer without cutting the satin stitch edge. Regards Joyce

For your first try it is wonderful .I don't allways use the same thread top and back ,that way you can tell the top for sure.My brother machine only likes the white bobbin thread .hugs carolyn
