Just letting lbrow know it was not a good idea to turn my machine upside down to try and get needle out that had dropped in the needle plate. I ended up having to travel a 6 hour round trip to the Sewing Centre and get him to retrieve it. I will make sure the bobbin area is covered when changing a needle from now on.

So sorry this didn't work for you. But glad you were able to get the dealer to help you. I have a dealer that's and hr away and he has shown me how to take my machine apart a do a lot of things on my own. I am forever grateful to him. Did you get him to go ahead and service it while you were there?/Lillian

I guess it was worth a try. He said it was really jammed in and would not have come out on it's own. Thanks

That is a bummer. It all depends on where it falls. Thankfully I (my hubby) was ablr to retrieve the one we lost, and now we cover!

Had I not turned it upside down it would have just lay in the bottom. But I was still not happy about it being there.

Sorry, I did not see your post earlier. But there is a telescoping wand that is magnetic that you could buy. I keep it in my room at all times. I have used it for that reason. It will also pick up pins that you may drop from time to time. I have also gone outside with it after having a new roof. It picked up the old roofing nails. It costs about $3.00. But an investment.

Sounds good. But I thought you should not put magnets near your Computerised Machines though.

The dealer was great. He only charged a minimal fee.

Sure is. Don't want it to happen again. It was the 1st time in almost 50 years of sewing, so i suppose not too bad.

Sure pays to do that. I have learnt the hard way.

Same to me happened lately. Lucky I was able to recover it myself ! From now on, if I change the needle I put a piece of paper covering the bobbin area so this will never happen again.
