I missed all of you but I’m back! I lost my vary best lifelong friend. My Granny past away and took with her a very big part of my heart. She was more like a mother to me than a grandmother. We did everything together. She is the one to teach me to sew. Growing up I cannot rember having store bought clothing. She even made my first pair of silky under pants, with a matching slip, OH that set was the turning point for sewing I never had something with fine lase until then.

We caned in the summer and made jams and jelly. I learned how to make cair packages for my uncle in Vet war. Does any one rambler making banana bread in coffee cans to send to the guys.
The best gift that she gave me was the relationship with god

I'm so sorry for your loss. She sounds like a wonderful woman who loved you very much. She was obviously more than Grandma but a best friend as well and a teacher too. You were so lucky to have someone like her in your life. Treasure those special moments as I'm sure she did. I hope my grandchildren gain half as much from me, that would be a blessing. God Bless you,
Meri

Sounds like your granny was a strong, loving, christian woman and that is what she wants for you. I lost my mom and my grand-daughter, 6 months apart. Sometimes we think that we can't get through it, but He helps us bear it and we treasure the times we had.I am happy that you are able to join us again, your Granny probally knew you were stronger than you think. I am glad to hear of your fond memories. Sounds like she did a good job with you.Keep looking up-Toogie

Darby,
"Grannies" have a way of staying a part of your heart forever with the wonderful memories she made with and for you! Believe me, she got a great reward herself from YOU in teaching, guiding, and your being her friend, too!!
Hugs, (from a GRANNY)

So sorry to read about your loss, but to know your Granny gave you a relationship with God tells me that she is with you in spirit and that one day, you will be together again! That is the best story ever told, in addition to the message you have shared here. God Bless and keep you in this time that is sad for you, but oh so glorious for your Granny!

Thank you so much for your kind words. Now it is my turn to be the mentor to my family. I never knew just how poor my family was growing up. Granny and Mom made a us rich by turning nothing in to something! And the trust in god.

Your granny was lucky to have you so close to her to make her life interesting and worthwhile and you were lucky to have someone so wonderful that memories flood back of good times with her. She showed you how to be a caring and loving grandma and now it's your turn to pass it on.
Sending thoughts of comfort and understanding at this sad, sad time for you.
