This is the rectangle applique for a mug rug that is for the 5x7 hoop.
You can use it just for applique just don't add the back fabric.

This is a square applique for the 4x4 hoop that will fit your 5x7 hoop.
It is in the free DBC section.

There is also a rectangle applique for the 5x7 hoop.
But you said you need square.

The square applique is for a coaster.
You can use it for applique just don't add the back fabric and skip the next step to attach the back fabric and then just do the final satin stitch.
