I want to make a pony bow. It's a couple of pieces of ribbon added to a pony tail holder. I wanted to do it a co-workers GD. Her name is Alivia and she plays for the Cubs. Her number is 2 so I don't want to put Cub #2 LOL. I have SEU Design (free) so I guess i could do one letter at a time. Thanks for the suggestions. I will post a pic if ever get past the other stuff I want/need to get done...
Do you have software where you could do letters separately and then set them up vertically? That might solve your problem. I have not tried sewing on ribbon but other cuties have given you suggestions to try.
If you first sew/join strips of fabric to both sides of your ribbon, it will be Wide enough to fit your hoop.
My machine hates the sticky stuff.
Not too sure of how you want the font but you could alway turn the letters 90 deg, sorry but I have a digi prog so it is easy to manipulate letters.
It seems like using a peel and stick stabilizer would work - as long as you lay out the ribbon nice and straight. I've never tried it, but would love to know what you figure out :-)
My regular sewing machine has a vertical font/alpha. My software will also do vertical. What do you want to 'write'? Maybe one of us could put a word together (vertical design), for you to sew out. You could also use a regular font/apha and have the words sew sideways and just turn to read. A mark to sew at start and finish would be good too, for placement.
I have embroidered on ribbon, and di dnot use stabilizer - as far as the font - I used my software to put the names vertical. Grogain works the best.
I found a couple of ribbon tutorials for you. I don't know about a vertical font.
