Well after months of taking about it, I finally did it. I purchased embird and am thrilled, have been playing around with it now that all my orders are complete and my head is spinning with all the ideas I have of things I want to make. Will there be enough hours in my days? Not sure about that one LOL. I am thinking I will be saving lots of hours though by being able to design my projects before putting them in my machine (before I had to surperpose my designs because I could not cut them). Oh the possibilities are endless and

I have to say I expected it to be alot more complicated that it is (had me a bit imtimidated), so far so good. Just purchased basic and iconizer but can already tell that the font engine won't be far behind.

Congrats! I've been using Embird now for several years, and I love it! It was so easy to learn, even as a newbie digitizer. Just in case you didn't buy from secretsof.com, they discount all of the modules. So when you add on anything, check out their prices. They are the best I found anywhere on the net. Enjoy playing!! :)

Did you have any experience or knowledge of degitizing before your purchase? I know nothing about degitizing. I just have a desire to learn. Do you think embird would be a good choice for me? :) Susan

Are you running Windows 7? I have had problems with Embird with Iconizer running Windows 7 with a 65 bit Dell computer...anyone? Tried switching to 32 bit option in Embird, but lose my Iconizer pictures...not good. After about 15-20 minutes computer just shuts down...it's not the computer, it's the Embird program...Embird site indicates problems with running Windows 7, but not a way to fix as far as I can tell...

I run Windows 7 32bit, and haven't had any problems with Iconizer.

I understand that the new 8.8 build does support 64bit. Here is what the site says about it:
"Iconizer plug-in now shows icons also in 64-bit type of Windows Vista and Windows 7. There is a new switch "64-bit Windows" located below "OK" and "Cancel" buttons in "Options > Iconizer Settings" dialog box.

Because the development tool is still not available in 64-bit version, this temporary 64-bit Iconizer uses 32-bit kernel. Therefore this Iconizer is not as quick as the true 64-bit Iconizer which will be developed once the 64-bit version of development tool is available..."

And here's the link to read more about it:

Hope this helps!

Will share once I become a pro like you, not digitizing yet because I wanted to know how the program operates first,

Do you know if you're running 32 or 64 bit s/w? The new Embird build (8.8)now supports 64 bit so you should be OK. And it does support JEF format.

It is working for me so it should be o.k. for you as well
