muppets were actually created by Jim Henson & Disney purchased part ownership!
On February 17, 2004, it was announced that the Muppets (excluding the Sesame Street characters, which are separately owned by Sesame Workshop) and the Bear in the Big Blue House properties had been sold by Henson's heirs to The Walt Disney Company. However, as a result, Sesame Workshop (formerly the Children's Television Workshop), also lost the rights to Kermit the Frog, and he could no longer appear on any new material on Sesame Street, although Kermit did later appear on the premiere of the show's 40th season on November 10, 2009.

as you can see they have limited copyrights, not all of the sesame characters are owned outright by Disney, but with that exception I'm sure the Henson family retains the rest of the rights to above metnioned characters!
your very welcome, I might also add that in reading the correct terms it would appear as thow Kermit fell threw the "proverbial cracks"
Poor Kermie..you'd think Miss Piggy would help him out;>) hugs for all your help.

Seasame Street would only be legal on a card or from ibroidery.com (the brother site).
Thanks for your thoughts. I checked the ibroidery.com site...I did not find the characters...perhaps I didn't look in the right category. None-the less, the Muppets came up as at a Disney link above.
