If you're downloading apps or anything on your phones or ipads, your sending your email address to the world. Everytime you sign up for a group, or buying something online, you're giving out your email address. Since I got the Iphone 4s, and my Kindle Fire I have so much junk mail, sometime 30-40 every morning when I turn on the computer. My email address was just hacked a few weeks ago, and they send spam from my email address to everyone in my email contact list. I don't like it, but that's just the way it works. Welcome to the world of Modern Technology.
I have a different email address for everyday use. I just use this email address for sewing and embroidery. That is why I was wondering if someone else might be having this problem.
I am so glad my spam blocker does a good job. I would rather not know about these things. I hope it is not ME related. LLDS! christine
Usually spam blocker works, but whew. I guess there must be a glitch in the system in the blocker department!! I got another batch this morning.
We used to get alot years ago, but most has stopped, haven't a clue where this comes from, other than the "cookie" thingys that the computer does when you visit a website.....my email has a feature that I can black list an email address and that helps cut down on this kind of thing...
I must say that I have never had this happen, although I have had the odd one telling me I have won millions in the lotto. My service provider keeps the spam at bay. Sarah.
funny you should mention this,I once clicked onto a fortune tellers ad(tara with a crystal ball) and before I knew it,I was being bombarded with rubbish in this vein, I had won the u.k./australian lotto, a american soldier had come across a deceased millionairs fortune in afganistan, and I was his nearest and dearest?etc. some nigerian millionairess was dying of cancer and wanted to leave her money to me,to open a hiv clinic, loads and loads of this sort of rubbish. I'm pretty sure it was all connected to this fortune teller.wan't be nosey and click on anything like that again.
