Question? I have a brother machine which uses the PED basic card reader, and a singer machine. Is there any way to get the designs I saved on the ped card on the singer? The singer files are in the futura format

PED basic does not read original cards and let you transfer designs to your computer to use in other ways - like combining designs or making a back-up, or transfering them to a rewritable card. At least my outdated version does not, I don't know if the newer verslons have that capability.

Sorry, I was 'reading' her as having designs on her PED card..didn't realize it was a bought design card. Never tried that, tho the PE v5 will copy from those cards to Layout & Editing program.

Ped Basic offers option of browsing desktop or card. Selectcard and upload the designs to PED Basic page. After closing, the designs should be on desktop ..send them to 'my documents' and then you can connect directly to Singer and transfer. If format is wrong, convert with Wilcom, Pulse, or some other program. I'm sure you can retrieve your designs if you still have your box & card. I think I'm right-I seem to remember doing this in the past.

Only way I know of is to get amazing box and transfer the designs off the pes card. Mine will transfer from any card .

Bev
Singer will read any format thru its futura software. So just load files to computer hard drive. I know of no other way or how to get files on cards to your computer but I know they are out there. But singer does not read cards as you probably know already. Hopefully, someone knows how
to get them on to your computer and then singer software can read them.

PS Singer futura software can read just about any software including PES, jeff hus etc. It doesn't use cards, usbs etc.
Just straight off the computer which is very nice.

If I can't get them I will just have to have my brother machine repaired and then use them. At least I'm still embroidering.
Thanks for helping!

You don't have the original designs on your computer? Seems like all you need is a USB cable which will connect your computer to your Singer.. cool :)

Exactly I use a USB cable from computer to machine. Love it for organizing. Downside is you have to have computer plugged to emb machine while embroidering but I can still be on computer doing other things like playing on cuties. LOL

Actually this helps lower cost of the Singers because you use your computer as the brains so to speak.

I have PED Basic and it's a one-way program meaning you can save onto the card, but not from the card to your computer. The files are overwritten each time you use PED Basic to transfer a file to the card. However if you used PED Basic to initially transfer the files then I'm assuming those designs are on your computer, so you'd have to use a Singer compatible card/USB stick to use those designs in your machine after converting with them to Singer's native format (is it jef?).

I also doubt that the card would be compatible with a Singer machine both in that you can't put it into the machine (I'm supposing), and it won't read the pes files, as they're Brother format. Sorry :( xXx

That's what i was told, it won't work but I thought I'd get a Cuties 2nd opinion.

If you have the pulse Abassador free program, it can change your formats for you.
I changed XXXX format to Pes.
Happy stitching!

Hi, I would think that as the PED is Brother and they use PES format that you are not going to get it to work on your Futura in the different format. I look forward to hearing others replies
